"Our tour got rescheduled over the weather, which was for the best as we had a beautiful day on the bank holiday Monday. We were met by our guide John, who helped with safety jackets for the boat trip and gave us some history on the way as well as offering to take group photos. The journey across is short, with beautiful views. Once on the island, we were given more details about the island itself and how the lighthouse came to be. It is a steep climb to the top of the hill, but the stop offs with more information from John make it a lot easier. We were shown the old houses where the keepers would live, the helipad and goats before making our way to the top of the lighthouse itself. The views are spectacular, looking back across to Ballycotton, Garryvoe and beyond. For the journey back, the boat took the longer route so we got to see the rarely seen back of the island, and the solar panels which help power the lighthouse. Cannot recommend the tour enough, John was full of knowledge and made it a fun visit also. Highly recommended!"
"Great Tour with lovely tour guide and lot's of interesting details about the lighthouse."
"This is a must do if visiting Ballycotton. A lovely boat trip out to the lighthouse with informative guide Ann Marie. The views from the island are amazing, helped by the fact it was a sunny day. A very interesting couple of hours, and recommended. You must book online though, as you cannot just rock up."
"Excellent tour led by the knowledgeable Anne Marie. Also, Ballycotton is a gorgeous fishing village that has some really lovely restaurants."
"Great experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at the departure point, our guide, John, who eats, sleeps and drinks lighthouses regaled us great stories and overall he made the trip both informative and really enjoyable. Highly recommended."
