"Highly recommended boat ride out to Skellig Michael. John is extremely down to earth and an absolute gentleman. His two dogs kept the boat entertained to and from the island also. Will be returning to Skellig Tours the next time"
"Very enjoyable trip, the skipper John and his 2 dogs were great guides and dolphin spotters!! Perfect trip for snoozing babies too!!"
"Amazing tour! John and his shipmate from Dublin are absolute Irish treasures. To our delight we were joined by two dogs, Luna and another friendly dog who were a pleasure to have around. Despite John saying that the sea was not too bad, I had terrible seasickness, John provided ginger tea on the way over to help calm everyone’s stomach. My mother also was seasick and they had a bucket available for her so she didn’t have to lean over the edge of the boat. There is also a toilet available on board. Wet weather gear was available for us to put on if required. Arriving on Skellig Michael was akin to a fairytale, the insanely green high cliffs and beautiful wildlife was incredible to see, we saw many puffins and gulls. The hike to the top is not too bad as long as you’re not afraid of heights, there are no handrails and I can imagine if it was raining it may become slippery. When we reached the summit, we were greeted by a tour guide who resides on Skellig Michael and he told us about the history of the island. On the way back, John’s shipmate from Dublin cooked us some fish that he had caught while we were on the island, can’t get any fresher than that! Unfortunately I was still terribly seasick and couldn’t taste it, but my mother said it was delicious. I can’t give enough praise for John and his shipmate (who’s name has slipped my mind) they were kind and friendly souls who are skilled helmsman. They went above and beyond a regular tour operator."
"I was lucky to get on a landing trip for two people to Skellig Michael only a few weeks out. Skellig tours were best priced of the few that were still available. Booking was easy on the website and I was emailed through all the details I needed. Getting to the boat was easy by car with plenty of parking available. The trip was great with a toilet on board as there is none on the island. John and his worker are very friendly while their two dogs provided entertainment for the way over. If your going to Skellig Michael, this is the best value sailing."
"We had a really nice trip, that might not be representative: we were the last eleven tourists on the island and had wonderful weather. So we could take pictures without people interfering it. For us, the trip was worth the 100,-€ per person, even though the trip to Skellig Michael was very choppy (the tour back was relaxing, though). The puffins very really really fantastic to watch. The guide that told us about the island was very instructive. We had three nice dogs on our boat, which made it special. The crew even took a small tour to the neighbouring island and we saw seals and Gannets . All in all a wonderful experience with a last minute booking!"
