"Had a lovely few days at Garryvoe Beach Homes. Return visit and house up to its usual great standard. The weather outside was blustery and wet but we managed to get a few beach walks etc. The house itself was lovely and warm...only needed to boost the heating once during our two day break. We used the pool facilities at the Garryvoe Hotel twice and the charge for same has (I think )not changed since out last visit...€34 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Beautiful pool! Our dog Kiki appreciated being able to accompany us. Being pet friendly really is a plus and will keep us returning to the accommodation at this time of year. Des met us on arrival and all was hassle free."

"I am finding it hard to give this accommodation 1 star - should be zero stars. From start to finish, our holiday was a nightmare & completely ruined by a lack of response and help from the owners. We stayed here for 4 nights, with two young kids & I am also heavily pregnant. An unwanted 4-legged rodent came during our first night stay. I wanted to go home but for the sake of my children, I hoped things would get sorted but nothing got sorted. I found the owners to be very unprofessional & they weren’t long taking my money - they had taken the full amount before our holiday was over, even though they knew we weren’t happy. I am in the rental market too & have rental accommodation. I would be mortified & would do anything possible to improve the situation for my customers - not these owners! I feel it was all about money for them!! Would never stay there again! My response to the owners response below: Wow............... you have FINALLY responded, 16 months later!! This was your policy from day 1 - lack of response! I demanded my money back after exhausting all avenues with you but getting ZERO satisfactory response!! The first night of our stay , after we heard and saw the "4 legged rodent", we rang Des numerous times, with no response. We went to the zoo (seeing as we had very young kids and we were trying not to have our holiday ruined). After a few hours, still no response. I then emailed the email address that had contacted me previous - once again, no response!! I finally found the lady's number, she answered and said they will call over and sort it. When we got back, we noticed you left a few basic mouse traps!!! I have all the photos for proof and would upload them if I can. Obviously, this did not fix the problem for the duration of our stay. We contacted the owners again and I felt they just brushed it off, like "what do you expect us to do". I was also heavily pregnant and didn't appreciate looking at mouse droppings every evening we came back. If you had apologised and been sincere with your response, I would have dropped it. But I demanded my money back because a) the lack of response from you, b) when you did something, it was useless , c) I was heavily pregnant and very upset about the whole situation and d) I had young children and was trying to make the holiday somewhat good for them and e) you did not engage with a professional pest control company and f) you did not look after or consider your customer AT ALL!!! And guess what everyone - I did not get any refund, guess what they did!! IGNORED my review and my messages to them. I await your response in the next 16 months!!!"

"Upon arrival we called the 2 numbers known to us that we had arrived. No response. Finally Marie arrived. But the apartment wasn't up to standard (dirty microwave, dirty pads left, dirty lamps, missing light bulbs, missing shower head, towels as hard as sandpaper). We contacted the owners Marie and Des again. They were again hard to get in touch with. When we finally had contact again, Des was very rude. He interrupted the conversation, said we were too critical (for € 160 a night don't expect a clean kitchen?), we were more or less ordered to leave but he was not going to give our full money back. And he disconnected. What kind of customer service is this? We are sure Des will claim that we were looking for a discount, which isn't the case at all. We aren't these type of people. We are just expecting good service and will report if that's not in order. Read the other reviews in which is also stated that the owners are hard to get in touch with and simply don't care as the money is already into their account. If you are looking for a nice and clean place to stay, please don't choose Garryvoe Beach Homes. There are plenty of other well looked after accommodations in the area to choose from with friendly owners. Stay away from Garryvoe Beach Homes!"

"Excellent cottage big and roomy ok for wheelchair users beach 2 mins away (not wheelchair friendly as are most beaches). Place was spotless can't fault anything except the(more a personal thing)pillows being to solid but just bring your own"
