"Absolutely loved it. Great service, fantastic food. We stayed in the cottage, and there were fresh eggs and muffins waiting for us when we arrived and a fire in the grate. Would definitely stay here again."
"***Don't trust the positive reviews***. This is a scam. Cigarette smoke soaked into everything. Holes in paintings, dripping faucets, broken toilet seats, disintegrated mattresses... The host was an incredibly poor mannered, aggressive and deceitful. I didn't feel safe and had to leave."
"We had to leave. The first thing that hit us when we walked in the house was the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke. After we were shown to our rooms, I had a seat on the bed an went all the way through to the slats. The mattress had literally no filling. We went downstairs and found the hostess. I very calmly and politely asked if we could change rooms. She immediately became incredible indignant and starting ranting about how she changed the mattresses every month (something I find very hard to believe). She came up and sat on the bed in question and just stared at me, then hinted (although not outright accused me) that I was lying and just making trouble. She left the room and then begrudgingly returned to offer us another room after we discussed leaving. The second bed was only marginally better than the first, but the stench of cigarette smoke was just as intense. When we mentioned this, she brushed it off as smoke from the fireplace downstairs and decided she would be even more insulted. Having kicked the habit just five years ago, I know the difference between fireplace and cigarette smoke. We then informed her that it would probably be best for all parties if we just left. Her indignation intensified, and she proclaimed that we were the only people in years to ever complain. Then she told us to get out, lest we insult her further. She did, however, offer us tea upon arrival."
"Relaxed, friendly, and value for money accommodation. Great Breakfast. Dog friendly (except the dining room). Nice gardens to explore, with a tea room open during the day."
"Stayed here a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Massive country house. Offered tea and cake on arrive which was lovely after the drive to Ballyboy. We found the host to be fantastic and friendly. She provided a first class Irish breakfast aswell as a choice of cereals, fruits etc. My granny has mobility issue and she had the option of a room downstairs which was great. The dining room is lovely. We were offered the use of the sitting room too but didn't need to, except for to enjoy our welcome tea&cake. Lovely gardens too. Would return."
