Reviews
"Secured a last minute booking at this B and B. At β¬170 for two double rooms (3 guests), it was not cheap with no breakfast included. Owner was a gentleman and location is great for Kenmare, however rooms and in particular bathrooms need modernising. Has great potential for a makeover."
"I've been wanting to write this review for months now, and I feel awful that I'm only getting around to it now. This is what a B&B in Ireland is all about. The host, Tom, is the most kind and helpful man. The room, house, and property was quaint, quiet, and beautiful. Nothing beat eating a delicious breakfast overlooking the yard filled with sheep and getting travel advice from Tom! To this day, my boyfriend and I talk about how amazing our night/morning was at this B&B!"
"Tom was a very nice and kind host. He greeted us as soon as we arrived and got us a pot of tea to warm up. He recommended an amazing place to eat and also made sure we knew the best way to tour the ring of Kerry. Not only was tom amazing but the rooms were clean and cozy. Also this b and b was just a 8 minute walk to town and was the perfect place to stay to start the ring of Kerry the next day. Tom made us a traditional Irish breakfast in the morning before we left. I wish we could have spent more time in Kenmare."
"Tom keeps things running smoothly at the Ardmore house. Our rooms were kept clean, and fresh. We were offered tea and snacks upon arriving, before bed, and before heading out the next day. Tom served a traditional Irish breakfast in the morning with a poached egg, sausage, ham, and assorted breads & spreads. I will probably never return to Ireland, but if I'm ever again in the area, I'd stay at the Ardmore house again. Thanks, Tom."
"We stayed 5 nights with Tom O'Conner at his B&B. He was a wonderful host. The full Irish breakfast and other breakfast items we had were great. He was very helpful in making dinner suggestions, etc. We loved seeing and hearing the donkey in the back field braying in the evening and at breakfast, as well as the sheep. The location was perfect for our vacation travels to the Skelligs, Ring of Kerry, Ring of Dingle, Ring of Beara, Baltimore, and Killarney National Park. The town is the right size to find good dinner and entertainment choices. That all said, the Ardmore House is getting very dated. While clean, the bedding is old and dingy looking. The shower stall is very small. We didn't have hot water 3 out of 5 mornings. He didn't have any wash cloths - only towels to give us. Tom really should sell the place and get an investor in that could do some significant updating. The other three B&Bs we stayed at were much nicer. Still I would recommend it if the above concerns outweigh the benefits for you."
