"Wonderful experience staying at Rodeen Country House! Sophie and Philippe are outmost welcoming and ultimately knowledgeable about the area and Ireland in general. They share our common excitement for Ireland and the outdoors. I'd highly recommend staying here for several days as there is quite a lot to do, especially if you're interested in hiking. The Beara peninsula is a much less crowded alternative for those wanting to escape the Kerry loop madness in high season. The Country House is beautifully located offering sea views on a green lot with a great garden that is open to guests. Breakfast was also fantastic with many choices including Philippe's own honey from the garden. Looking forward to staying again Manuel & Molly"
"I stayed here with my sister-in-law. What a great choice! We were met at the door by the wonderful Phillipe and Sophie who welcomed us like old friends and took our bags. To say we immediately at home is an understatement. We felt as if we had our own private concierge in Phillipe and received nothing but 5* treatment for our entire stay. The fire was built up for us each evening, we were given maps of the area as well as great local info on interesting sites. However sitting in the beautiful gardens was just as relaxing. We old girls enjoyed some wine each evening - even this was taken care of by Phillipe who opened and poured for us. Both Vera and I cannot recommend Rodeen more. We have stayed in many B&B's, hotels and guesthouses in Ireland & abroad and have never experienced hospitality like this before. If I could give 1000 stars rating I would! Thank you Phillipe and Sophie."
"Philippe and Sofia are terrific hosts. They are very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and have a ton of suggestions for what to do/see. The place itself is also beautiful and they keep it in tidy shape. Would highly recommend it to anyone travelling through Beara"
"Beautiful place to stay very peaceful and quiet lovely gardens. The host is wonderful gives all the information you need. Breakfast is top class. Very comfortable."
"This is a really lovely B&B ran by Phillipe and Sofia set within lovely gardens and approx. 2K from Castletown. The room was clean, bed comfy and location nice and quiet. Breakfast was a hit...tasty pancakes served with fresh fruit. Bonus of fresh croissant in the morning. Freshly pressed orange juice and excellent coffee. It was a fantastic location to explore the Beara Peninsula and Bere Island from, and Phillipe has excellent local knowledge regarding best spots to see and swim. Would highly recommend and hopefully be back again some day. Thanks for a lovely relaxing stay."
