Travellers Rest Hostel Ring of Kerry, County Kerry

"Basic but very conveniently placed accommodation bang on the Ring of Kerry route. Rooms are plainly furnished but very clean. Showers also clean and function perfectly. I used it simple as a stop over on a motorcycle tour and for my purpose it was perfect. Only downside was they don't do card payments. Cash only. Awkward if you're not carrying folding money! There's no ATM for miles. Fortunately local pub gave 'cash back'. The pub, incidentally, serves superb meals at a very reasonable cost. ( The Blind Piper) just a minutes walk from the hostel."

"Nice hostel, in a good location in tbe village, near the pub..Clean and new rooms and bathrooms, dinning room and kitchen available for a goid price. Nice owner, definetly a place to stay and enjoy several days."

"Really nice and cozy place at a good price. We stayed there for one night during our hike on the kerry way in september. Since we were the only guests, we had the whole house for ourselves. Only downsides are no wifi, no breakfast and 1.5km away from next shop."

"This is the best little hostel I have ever stayed in. I stayed in 2004 and now again in 2019 and it is a gorgeously preserved and decorated traditional Irish farmhouse..with all creature comforts.. the heating was on the rainy evening in August when I arrived and it was super cosy. The bedroom floors are wooden and the rooms are spotless and fully furnished like a family home And nicely de orated. There is a quaint traditional and homely feel throughout. With lamps and plants throws and cushions and rugs.The kitchen is also lovely with wooden doors cooker mi microwave etc...the living room has an old fashioned wooden dresser full of ro Kerry and there is a fireplace and big dining table with views of a lu h garden of shrubs and trees through brightly curtained windows. I don't know why I took so long to rediscover this lovely place"

"Stayed here while hiking the Kerry Way. There is not much to do in Caherdaniel, there is a pub and the hostel. Since there was no place to buy food, it would have been nice to have breakfast included, or an option to buy breakfast. The hostel was fine, simple kitchen, beds and washrooms. The host was not there when I arrived so I had to wait until they arrived. If hiking the Kerry Way, I would recommend hiking further than Caherdaniel since it’s a short day from Waterville to Caherdaniel or staying at a B&B."
