"Very very beautiful place with lots of green spaces and something for everyone. Great for dog walks, cycling, football and many sporting amenities. I could go on. And yes there is a ping pong table. The lake has lovely ducks and if you are Lucy you might spot a squirrel or two in the hoods. The park is well kept and the toilets were also very clean. I was impressed. My kids loved the play area with lots of slides, swings other playing equipment."
"Very lovely park, good long walk much bigger than you would think. There are 2 lakes one with an island with geese, ducks and moorhens, bridges across too and lots of fish in the water. There is a playground, a football pitch and skateboard park also tennis courts, but the park is so big you dont have to pass these if you dont want to. There is a tearoom where you can get food and drink and toilets too. Plenty of benches to sit on. There is ample free parking on the road outside. Several entrances. Altogether delightful. However once again today there were dogs out of control, chasing squirrels and not responding to owners. Also dogs mess on paths not cleaned up, this according to the signs is a breach of the rules. Dogs should be kept on a lead and stick to the paths. I am a dog lover but this is anti-social behaviour."
"It is a beautiful park with lots to do and see! It has a huge playground suitable for different ages, an icecream van (great prices, delicious and he takes card payments), big pools/lakes with loads of wild fowl including ducks, geese, and swans, huge areas of grass for picnics or playing with a football, a skate ramp for those braver souls and lots of paths for walking. It is so beautiful! The wildlife is so friendly! The squirrels were coming up to us for peanuts and the birds were not scared of coming up to us for bird seed. The geese were even surprisingly friendly. This is a great local place to enjoy an afternoon with the family. We will definitely be visiting regularly!"
"This is such a beautiful park, with a lot of history behind it. It’s perfect for a walk in any season, but at this time of year it’s very quiet, with just the swans, geese, coots, ducks and squirrels for company. It’s a very well established park, with lots of different paths and areas to walk through and enjoy. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and get back to nature for a short time."
