"We very carefully researched as to who we would entrust to do such specialist cleaning for my daughters designer wedding dress after her wedding in Aug 22. We specifically chose you as Stony Cleaners as their website states ‘are a family firm that takes every care in cleaning wedding dresses, such a special garment -treat it like its our own.’ Any wedding dress holds so much sentimental value. Something you want to keep for posterity. Was told would be approx 6 weeks and began ringing to chase. Rang monthly to be told that was a backlog of orders. Finally a week before Christmas I got through to the owner who said was surprised no one had got in touch as they had a problem in that the chemical they used had dissolved part of the dress by the waist! I was so distraught and my daughter was so devastated. He said could try sending to a seamstress to fix - obviously we weren't optimistic of this and inevitably came back to say not able to repair. Next option was insurance claim - so we went though the process of applying which took several weeks and chasing. For a £2200 dress we were given £1600 as was now deemed 2nd hand. No amount of upset is taken into account. My husband and I have been demanding that we want the dress back - at least we could attempt to make a christening gown out of what is left of the fabric so that we have some momento. But no- after lots and lots of chasing apparently now that we have the insurance money the dress is salvage and we can't get back! Spoken to citizens advice and they can't believe the situation as to quote 'if a car they would salvage parts to cover some of insurance outlay-but not with a wedding dress!' So upset as they have marred what was such a special day and caused so much upset."

"Handed my jacket 2 weeks ago which I was asked to collect in a week. Upon calling to check if it was ready to collect, I was advised it would take another week or two. Upon calling today, I was advised they have damaged the jacket and refused to deliver it back. Stay away!!!!"

"I travelled quite a distance to use this dry cleaner , as I wanted my wedding dress to be professionally dry cleaned and put in a preservation box which wasn’t available to me locally. I dealt with the same gentleman throughout who was absolutely lovely and very kind. He let me put my car in their car park temporarily, and helped me carry the box to my car. Definitely recommend !"
