"In 2022 we instructed Churchers to buy our home. As an ex Chartered Surveyor I have come across several solicitors in my time but none more incompetent than Churchers (more specifically the RJR arm acquired in 2022). The onboarding was something out of the 1900’s in terms of pace, through to the sheer lack of communication from our solicitor in the entire process for updates, through to the complete lack off interest in completing the deal. I could go into microscopic details about it but will save you the pain. All I would say is to avoid the RJR arm of this company they acquired in 2022 - all apart from one of the receptionists that had our corner and got things eventually moving to completion. A dire experience."

"We used RJR as our conveyancing solicitors and would not repeat the experience. Very difficult to reach anyone to speak to constructively and, mostly, a rather hostile reception. There was one notable exception, but generally speaking we did not find them easy to deal with. A shame, as we had previously dealt with other staff in relation to other matters, and had been very pleased. That was why we chose them for our conveyancing. Big mistake."

"* REVISED * We used the Ryde branch as our solicitors to buy our house, which completed in November 2017. The service was pretty poor then. Communication wasn't great and we had to chase for everything, but were just glad to be in our house, so didn't want to make a fuss. However, there was a problem following the purchase of our house. It is far too complicated to explain, but trying to communicate with RJR was an absolute nightmare. At one point, I found myself calling weekly and every time I left a message, no one EVER called me back. I got one email after 8 months of trying to say that they are looking into it and would get back to me, but no one did... I own a business myself, so am usually pretty understanding. Things happen and I get that you cannot always reply as quickly as you'd like. However, this was just silly! **************************** Since this complaint was logged, we received an immediate response from Nick, who dealt with this matter professionally and so quickly! He really was excellent and made our experience more positive. We still stand by the original service being bad, but Nick has rectified the problem, which we really appreciate!"
