"We were sold by the idyllic setting and fabulous video on their website. We paid £320 for 2 nights in their adjacent lodge house. We have a 5 month old and a 2 year old. The place was filthy, very tired and quite frankly, only fit for the local live stock. We had pre-booked a dinner reservation on our first night, only to be told that they won’t be serving dinner as the other guests weren’t eating that evening. I had also rang ahead and asked if there was a microwave so that I could sterilise bottles. I was informed there was. There was not! We were greeted by the owner on arrival (once we found him) and we were highly disappointed in the house. It was very dated and had a smell of damp. We decided to raise our concerns, as we could not allow our children to stay in such disgusting conditions. The staff were very very defensive and just couldn’t accept they have massively missold their ‘hotel’. We were not happy with paying, therefore received a partial refund. We did not end up staying! Instead we stayed at the beautiful Hall down the Road. This was absolutely beautiful. Please do not be fooled by the website and lovely pictures, the place is unfortunately borderline dilapidated. Please see pictures"
"Great old one of a kind castle from bygone age. It's worth a visit as owners have invested good deal time and money to attract visitors in the area. Great place to be in. Highly recommended."
"Great day out watching the first of many outdoor theatre productions. Excellent initiative that deserves to succeed. We enjoyed William Shakespeare's "Two Gentlemen of Verona". Many laughs, happy patrons and happily employed actors. Well done!"
"Absolutely wonderful place, set in stunning countryside. Food, service, room second to none. Would highly recommend Soulton Hall. Top quality in every way, should have a five star hotel rating in my opinion. Owners and staff very friendly and welcoming, made us feel very much at home. Will definitely go back."
"Lovely venue for a wedding and we had a great time. Unfortunately though I think the organisation at Soulton hall was appalling. We were due to stay at the cottages as my fiance was part of the bridal party however when phoning to confirm booking we were told that we actually couldn't stay as our cottage was being renovated! No phone calls were made to the bride and no alternative were provided and this was only 8 weeks before the wedding. The bride's ended up in the smallest room as the bridal suite had been given to another couple by mistake. The rooms were also filthy. As we said amazing wedding but this was more to the effort of the wedding party as opposed to the venue."
