Reviews
"The quality of food was very good, service was excellent and the toilets immaculate. I would have given The Dog 5 stars but for the following: I ordered the large Fish and Chips and was disappointed with the portion of chips. For want of a better description the few chips were 'scattered' on the plate which could be plainly seen through them and the tablespoon of peas looked somewhat lonely. Finally the Wheatmoss beer was a nice tasting pint but was served at room temperature, personally I prefer it well chilled with condensation on the glass. All said I would still happily visit The Dog again."
"I lovely experience from start to finish. A wonderfully local pub serving great beers and ales as well as excellent food. We came at lunchtime on a Sunday just before the rush so it was quiet when we got there although it really filled up at around 12 o’clock, it was lucky that we managed to get a table and I would recommend booking in advance. We ordered the steak and ale pie, as well as the Sunday roast bap. They were both very filling, well presented and delicious. The service was excellent, and were plenty of staff for great service."
"Nice atmosphere, but service very slow and food under par. I ordered the burger and it took an hour to arrive. When it did the chips were warm at best and sparse. Burger meat was refreshingly tasty and well cooked (not well done) but comically too big to eat with its double patty. Fashion over function perhaps. Nice selection of booze but pricey."
"Another great meal here tonight usually I give five stars but our dining experience was ruined by the table next to us that thought it acceptable for there dogs to be barking and growling at anything that moved and sitting up at the table not the quite dinner we wanted unfortunately this has put us off returning anytime soon to a place that serves lovely food and the staff are fantastic by people that treat dogs as babies and have no regard for others yet we're quick to hush there kids! I know it's a dog friendly pub but not all patrons are dog friendly!"
