"We held a retirement dinner for three colleagues last weekend. There were 79 attending and we were accommodated in the larger of the two banqueting suites. In every respect the service, attention to detail, menu choices, quality of the food and wine etc were excellent. All of the planning and arrangements were undertaken calmly and efficiently. The service on the night was outstanding, and our every need was accommodated without question. All of the attendees were extremely complimentary and appreciative, and the three of us who organised the event felt it could not have gone better. Many thanks to all of the staff at Tylney Hall for a great evening!"
"We went for a traditional afternoon tea for two. It was a Thursday afternoon and I thought it might be rather quiet, but in fact it there were other couples and families and groups all enjoying the Grey Lounge on a sunny autumn afternoon. The welcome at the front desk was very friendly and professional and as we were early we were given a map and went for a walk around the grounds, which are beautiful and well worth the walk. The service was lovely, again professional, but friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was amazing. The food was presented beautifully, there was plenty of it and the whole atmosphere was really lovely. I would recommend Tylney Hall for this experience."
"Incredible stay - the garden(s) are amazing, you even get too see some wildlife on the fields. Quiet and relaxing. The staff are so incredibly friendly! What a joy. My only complaint: considering that the property is so large, I would've liked to see more cats around - rather than seeing them abandoned on the street, why not let them enjoy a protected forest?"
"Grounds are lovely, food is excellent. Having just been for a Sunday lunch and having stayed for the spa package during the summer, you could not fault that and it deserves 5 stars. However reception on both visits make you feel unwelcome and almost like chore to talk to. Baffling. It’s such a shame when staff at the outside seating area during the summer or the staff in the oak room were fantastically polite and service was lovely. Staff in the spa went above and beyond to help my other half with an personal issue and were charming in the way they handled it. During our first visit I shrugged off the poor behaviour of the front desk. We were ignored for an obvious long time whilst they were clearly having a personal conversation behind the pillar. After a quick look around they noticed us and carried on their conversation without a care. Finally they welcomed us but with an unwelcoming attitude, which continued anytime we had questions like asking about timings of spa treatments or directions. I was the same again when bringing the in-laws for lunch today, which was enough to make me want to review something I don’t normally do. In short 5 stars for the chefs and staff working but not for the front desk. They felt cold and unwelcoming. What shocked me most was that they seemed to be the more senior members of the team."
"One of the best spa/hotel we have stayed. A combination of great location, building itself, woodlands, swimming pools and the great staffs make this place very unique. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept with handreds of fruit trees. We certainly will be back..."
