"What a great place this is! National Trust have gone all out for children at this hall. The mystery room is great to get kids working together, collect tickets at the entrance for a time. The house is amazing with interaction throughout with dress up and a mock dance ball. The long gallery has toys spread thoughout, a great opportunity to let the little ones run around indoors. In the cellar there are yet more great ideas to keep the kids entertained! There is also the history of toys display. Make sure to look up, down and around to catch every display!"
"Glorious weather on a frosty day in December. Wonderfully maintained house and staffed by enthusiastic people with plenty to see and do. My kids (11, 9, 2) all had something to do and were occupied for a whole day (give or take). The museum is amazing fun, and the hall and gardens beautiful. Useful things to know: 1. The car park is a short walk from the house, so bring a buggy for the little ones, though there is plenty of space to store them while you're here. 2. There are loos everywhere! I've been to a lot of Nat Trust places and this was by far the best in that regard. 3. Food is reasonably priced, and there's a good selection. Fed all 5 of us for ~25 quid. Would absolutely recommend."
"Had an amazing time and would definitely recommend a visit. The exhibitions were interesting and well laid out. Perfect for children of all ages, there is something for everyone to enjoy there. Staff were friendly and helpful, facilities were clean and plenty of toilets around the site. The grounds are great to walk around also with lots of things to see. I will definitely be returning as I had such a wonderful experience. Museum was interesting and had integrated some modern approaches to history so it didn't feel stuffy and allowed the children to interact with specific items which my children enjoyed."
