"Left me without any heating for 6 days when I have young kids. I told them it was the central heating pump and they turned up without one and then didn’t turn up next day. They then left us for days. I had an insurance policy with Scottish Power who used Domestic and General who subbed it to Gasway. I currently have a complaint in with them and Domestic & General but no one has got back to me. We await an engineer tomorrow. We reported the fault last Wednesday."
"Cowboys . Had one of Gasways engineers to fix a boiler fault through my home insurance . Said boiler needed 6 new parts which surprise surprise would cost just under my insurance limit of £500 . He also broke the return valve and left it dripping . Said couldn’t return for 4 days . Came back, wasn’t a competent engineer , basically didn’t know what he was doing , had to ring 2 colleagues while has was there to try and talk him through fitting the valve he broke, even then he couldn’t replace the broken return valve. Admitted he had only fitted 2 parts ( allegedly ) left without fixing boiler , moaning he was late for his next job . Said I now needed a new PCB which would cost me personally around £400 on top of the £500 they are billing insurance !! Had an independent gas engineer out today , fixed return valve straight away , said he couldn’t see any parts that had been replaced , didn’t need to replace anything and it most definitely didn’t need a new PCB !! Boiler now up and running perfectly . Will be reporting to Gas safe , the insurance ombudsman and anyone else I can , because that is fraud . What if I had been a vulnerable old person and paid the almost £400 for an unbroken PCB . Disgusting and I’m taking this as far as I can !"
"Despite phoning me to make the appointments, this is the third time in a fortnight that the engineer has not turned up anywhere near on a time that Gasway asked for. It appears that sorry is a plenty good enough excuse. I feel sympathy for the ladies that answer our “where are they” calls but when someone tells you they will be there by 9.30 am I feel entitled to make a further appointment with someone else at 10.30. I have now had to cancel that and cannot get another for two weeks. One question for Gasway. Would your engineer sit outside my house for over two hours if I was late getting home? I don’t think so. I do not want to shoot myself in the foot, but I am looking for an alternative. Work fine when they do get here."
"Not happy as we are still having problems. Have had 2 other visits from Gasway after the job was supposedly finished to try and sort things out. Attempt number 3 is next Thursday 27th but as to the outcome, it is anybodies guess. They come across as professional and knowledgeable but have barely completed half of what they should have done. Sure there were a couple of minor extenuating issues but they should have known how to sort them out according to the different people on the follow up visits. Time will tell whether it will be 3rd time lucky."
"They turned up nearly 2 hours later than the 4 hour time slot booked. When I rang to ask when the engineer was coming they where unable to give me a revised eta, nor even reassure me he was still coming. Engineer left with the hot water turned off completely."
