"We were with Champion property management for our second of uni at UEA, and Chris was our property manager. we found that Chris was very communicative and quick to deal with issues that arose, as is natural with any student let. Throughout the year Champion were laid back yet helpful, and we would be more than happy to go with them again. We are now searching for a property for our next year in Norwich, and have mainly been looking at Champion properties as we know that they are reliable and have lovely houses to offer:)"
"Jon and his team are doing a brilliant job looking after our property in Norwich. They reply to queries quickly and we particularly like their proactive approach to addressing possible future issues."
"Well... Champion Property Solutions you will not be missed. A very troublesome management, driven by money and corruption. Joe was initially a welcoming, and seemingly respectful gentleman, however we discovered that in the end he didn’t have our best interests at heart at all. To begin with, when we moved in we couldn’t even begin to move our belongings in; the property was filthy, we couldn’t fathom that this is what was supposedly meant to be our home, and it was squalor. Eventually after two whole days of cleaning from all 3 of us tenants alongside some other helping hands we could move our stuff in. When moving out, we completely blitzed the house top to bottom, to avoid a deduction off of our deposit; on the final day of our tenancy all we had left was some food in the fridge, and rubbish bags. When going to sort the final little bits of our stuff, we already found Joe at the house (unannounced). Joe told us he was happy with the standard of cleanliness of the house, and that everything was fine, also he said that ‘[he would sort the rest of the rubbish for us, no problems.]’ he never mentioned a charge for this, otherwise we would of course done it ourselves! He delayed reimbursement of our deposit, and then when the final report was eventually put through (after much encouragement from us!) there were several charges unnecessarily put on our report- meaning a hefty reduction of our deposit. We were bewildered as to why joe had done this, we had several conversations and never once did he mention this. He made up some odd fixtures that needed doing, that allegedly we had caused, when in fact we looked after that house... it was our home. Tenants be very careful, as clearly being a clean, courteous, respectful, home-conscious tenant isn’t enough."
"Me and 2 other girls shared a 3 bed with this company this past year. After an overall satisfactory level of management of the property during our year, there were several issues moving out. The cleanliness of the property was not brilliant when we moved in so prior to moving all of our stuff, we spent 2 days cleaning the property before we could even think about moving in! On the last day of tenancy we planned to go in and give it a quick clean to find the manager there already. Wanting to gather the last of food and our belongings we offered to take rubbish and finish up the cleaning which had 80% already been completed (already a better standard than we began the tenancy), Joe politely declined with a happy ‘no issues at all girls i’ll sort that for u!’ After a delay in sending over the final report anyway, getting confused with the issues that had ultimately ended the tenancy which had been going on for months (which he was very aware of after numerous conversations), he got all the details wrong which delayed the reimbursement of the deposit further. He then failed to mention the ‘broken bed’ in one of the rooms, which from the photos looks like general wear and tear. He began by saying the slats had been damaged, and then changed his mind and stated the metal pole had been broken which was displayed in the final report we had finally been sent. As this was mentioned after the original email containing the deductions, this was contested by us as no intentional or even accidental damage had occurred to the bed. Slats we’re in perfect condition along with the mattress perfectly clean however where the bolts had been loose and continuously creaky as it was an old bed, it looked as though one of the metal poles had bent slightly in the photo, unbeknown to us. He stated this would be £100 for a new bed split between the landlord and the tenant who stayed in the room. Why was there a failure to mention the broken bed and why has this been split if the damage was caused by one of the tenants? A very disappointing end to a tenancy that had already been stressful, with little to no support from the manager with the issues. After discussions we have felt as though we have been forced to accept these deductions. A company that seems very lovely and helpful to begin with but is only interested in the money in the end!"
"Not impressed at all with the way my daughter and her two co-sharers have been treated on leaving the property. A nice and friendly outward exterior and professional looking website let down by the end product. A war of attrition by email concerning alleged damage to a bed and bills for cleaning and removal of rubbish when the place was left cleaner than when the girls moved in. They said they'd take the rubbish that was bagged up but were told helpfully by Joe "no its ok girls I will sort it". And then held the deposit with an £18 bill for removal of the same. Its a shame to fall out over such matters, but Im prompted to leave this review by the fact the remainder of the deposit was only returned when the bills were agreed to be paid. £135 cleaning bill and 2 bulbs at £4 and £100 for a part payment on a bent bed frame. I would suggest any new tennants photograph everything and consider a walkthrough with a "property manager" before agreeing on whats in what state. Beware. Especially when they're rushing you to get new tennants in and offer to "help". Help comes at a price!"
