"If you are paying for their services as a client your experience may be different, but we had the misfortune to be tenants in a house they were instructed to sell after the previous incumbent passed away. Their approach to us was shameful. We caught them lying about us refusing access for viewings on our pet camera (we had dogs so asked for specific times with notice) and they had to apologise after we complained to the owner. They persistently failed to recognise that, as we were not the owners, we wouldn't be "over the moon" happy when they wanted to book in another viewing. The final straw came when the house eventually sold and, instead of making a courtesy call, we simply came home to find a SOLD sign in the front garden. No care taken whatsoever that we were having our family home sold out from underneath us. They were absolutely brutal despite us keeping the place clean and tidy and ensuring it was viewing ready at all times. We approached them for support with a future letting and was assured that this would be available but when the time came no-one helped us at all. One property I called about that had a board go up THAT MORNING I was told had already been let to the son of a friend of the owners or similar. You can't beat that type of nepotism. We asked for an extension to our notice to finalise our sale and they advised no to this (luckily, she ignored them and granted it unofficially) as it was a cash buyer but, in the end, this fell through so now no rent and no sale due to their advice. All the other properties that sold (and stayed sold) recently in a cluster along our road were marketed by another local agency. So do your research before signing on that dotted line. We have now bought our own home and have moved on so I'm writing this simply as a genuine review of our personal experience"
