"We were very disappointed with the quality of the room we were given. It was on the side that hasn’t been refurbished so it was not one of the rooms that are shown! Our room had water stains on the wall and ceiling. There was black mold in the shower. The heaters stopped working...and a constant draft coming from the window. The newly refurbished side was impeccable...so was a bit sad that we got the short straw. When we complained we were offered a different room, still on the old side, and given an electric fan heater. Make sure you ask to be put in the newly refurbished side!"

"I booked a little room to spend 2 nights. On the bright side: - helpful staff: I had 2 heavy suitcases to bring to the 3rd floor, they helped me - good location: sea is very close on foot, and there is a bus stop nearby - I was allowed to check in a bit earlier than expected What I didn't like: - 3rd floor without lift - the shower was not fully functional, it needs repairing - TV remote didn't work, and TV wasn't placed properly (useless as I spent a lot of time outdoors though)"

"My room itself was pleasant (nice view of the park across the way, comfy bed, good location) but I didn't have any hot water for the duration of my stay. I was leaving very early in the morning and didn't have time to try to remedy the problem with the staff so I had to take a very icy cold shower. There was also constant noise through the wall from some construction or something nextdoor. It wasn't terribly loud, but enough to notice and find slightly bothersome."

"Overall a reasonably bad stay at five hotel. This was my first time not only staying in a b&b but also my first time staying in Brighton: and I had high hopes. On arrival the lady owner was polite and me and my friend felt very welcome. The room was nice and clean. But these wasn't the problems. We paid extra for a sea view, which was far from the sea view we expected, it was half covered with scaffolding. In the booking confirmation it stated 'five hotel will hand deliver a healthy continental breakfast' no where did it state this would come at a extra £5 per person, and considering it also says on google 'free breakfast' this is extremely confusing and resulted in us paying an extra £20 on top of the already over priced room at £240. So yeah a very disappointing stay overall and will not be visiting again."

"Rooms are very small, the "sea view" we paid extra for wasn't a sea view at all and you had to twist your neck out the window just to see. The shower would go very hot all of a sudden, floors not even and the tub creaked and worried us. And room service was inconsistent, not even taking away our glasses or replacing sheets!"
