"Got to hotel to find out it is no longer in operation despite having already paid. No cancellation email leaving 16 of us with nowhere to stay. Spoke to the lady over the phone that week to try and extend booking and was told hotel was fully booked. When we called Oyo they told us there was nothing that they could do. Would strongly suggest finding somewhere else."
"The room itself was okay but the decor of the OYO Albany in desperate need of an upgrade. The room was on the top floor and so hot we couldn't sleep! We had to keep the window open all night(it wouldn't stay open on its own however, we had to prop it up with the kettle!)The lifts were out of order(the stairs very steep)and I fail to understand why customers must pay 15pounds to use the venue parking ! Needless to say we found parking outside for 7pounds.The beds not great either , but we did find this at most of the places we stayed also."
"If the hotel is fine, they let us enter the room at 11:00 am when the check-in was from 2:00 pm. The only complaint is that they gave us a room that was too far from the exit to check out. for smokers it is a big complaint I advise you to ask for a room not so separate from reception also that the elevators did not work and to carry suitcases it is a great disaster. But otherwise, fine ."
"We booked two nights over pride weekend and we left at 7am after the worst nights stay and booked into the Jurys Inn and wished we'd just stayed there in the first place. I read reviews before we booked and saw it was dated but didnt seem too bad, we've stayed in hostels all around the world so weren't too bothered, how wrong we were! This was worse than any hostel ive stayed in! On Friday we arrived our room was 208, I put our bag away in a devan drawer under the bed and came back to find the drawer open and things moved around in the room as if someone had tried to go through our stuff, luckily I locked the bag and didnt leave any valuables. The door had a yale style lock only so easily slipped. The bed was rock solid and I felt like I had fleas jumping on me all night. The room was boiling as the old plumbed in towel rail was stuck on! The room was tiny, the windows only opened two inches, I asked for a fan they didnt have any and obviously no air conditioning. The property next door is a deralict building full of pigeons that you will hear all night. Stains all over the gross carpet, the towels stunk of bleach, the bathroom was clean but dated lots of wear and tear, but we were glad of a cold shower! At night you could hear the occupants conversations, someone tried to come in to our room so I had to wedge the chair under the door handle. I have felt safer walking the streets in South East Asia at night! We had the worst night and left at 7am, (the receptionist if you could call him that) didnt even ask what was wrong when I handed him the key. This is not a hotel its a doss house."
"For the price I paid it was okay.. very old fashioned and dated. Room was clean our room was on the “3rd” floor meaning climbing up at least 5 sets of stairs!!! There is parking but it’s £15 a night… you have to pay extra for the next day if you want to keep your car there after check out. The shower was really loud once turned on which was annoying. The location is good. Short walk to the beach a bit longer to the pier. Bars and restaurants and small shops are a few minutes walk with bigger shops like primark and H&M About 15 minutes walk"
