About the Business
At The Brazen Head, we invite you to experience the essence of a true Irish pub. Nestled in the heart of Dublin, our establishment has been serving up delicious food, cold pints, and warm hospitality for over 800 years. That's right, we're one of the oldest pubs in Ireland, and we wear our history with pride.
From the moment you step inside our doors, you'll be transported to a bygone era. The dimly lit interior is adorned with antique bric-a-brac, creaky wooden floors, and flickering candles, creating an atmosphere that's equal parts cozy and mysterious. Take a seat at our hand-carved bar and order up a Guinness, or settle into one of our snug corners with a classic Irish whiskey. If you're hungry, our menu features a range of traditional dishes with a modern twist, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Throughout the week, we offer a range of entertainment that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Ireland. Whether it's live Irish music, storytelling, or historical tours, there's always something happening at The Brazen Head. And if you're looking for a unique event space, our private rooms can accommodate groups of all sizes, from intimate gatherings to large parties.
As one of the most beloved institutions in Dublin, The Brazen Head is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the culture and history of Ireland. So come on in, raise a glass, and let us show you what it means to be Irish. Sláinte!

"The been head is known for being the oldest pub in Ireland and for having the best Irish coffee. Being as it was my first ever Irish coffee I have nothing to compare it to but can easily say myself and my girlfriend both enjoyed them. The food was also delicious! My girlfriend went with the beef stew which had a strong meaty flavour that went great with the Irish coffee and I went with the bacon and cabbage as I wanted an Irish food experience and I wasn't disappointed. It tasted exceptional. It's a short walk from the Guinness Storehouse so fits in perfectly for a meal before or after your visit."
"Love this oldest pub in the city. Steeped in history and the walls covered with mementos from guests past. Friendly staff and a nice selection of whiskies, wines and beers. A lot of Americans seem to frequent this place. Just had a drink so can't say anything about the food. Well worth the visit."
"Knowing the history of the place, I absolutely had to go and I'm glad I did! The atmosphere and staff were both lovely. The food arrived quickly and when I say good - I dream of that sauce! Absolutely delicious and the drinks were cold and hit the spot. Absolutely recommend if you're in Dublin!!"
"This was our first pub in Dublin and one of our favorites. Patrons seemed to be mostly tourists, probably due to its fame as being the oldest pub in Dublin. The Guinness here is on point and service wasn’t amazing but definitely fair. There are several rooms to the pub along with an outdoor area so don’t get discouraged if you don’t find seating at the first area you see. I had the beef and Guinness stew which was very good. Make sure to explore the rooms and read the writings on the walls."
"Oldest pub. It has its charm with the stone entrance and all the history stuck to the walls. Literally! Service was fair but would only recommend for a quick pint as you read everything that has been written on the walls. Many different rooms with their own stories to tell. Live music was nice."
