"Bring Back the Glorious Irish Beef Burger. Don't get me wrong... the one you have now is decent, and the atmosphere is still the great. The light dim, the fired chimney.. all is still as the old Dalkey Duck. But the burger was something to look forward to, with his tender beef, the juicy caramelised onion and the joyful pickle on top. You used to have the best burger in town... by far! Do not waste this treasure. Also... if you serve it with fries and you want to add the truffle mayo, don't add it as a separate full side. That's just greediness for Duck sake! Pool table is class tho..."
"I visited this establishment again during the lobster festival...Seriously good food & Atmosphere"
"Looks great with a very big dining area and beer garden out the back. Some great nooks and crannies to hide yourself away for a small party of friends. No food being served on the day I was here because "extractor fan was broken" which is a bizzare reason to shut a big food establishment down for so I didn't eat. Previous food reviews would make me nervous and one of the toilet cubicles was also out of order. Seems to be problems with organisation but still a very interesting bar."
"Tasty!!! Gourmet! Lovely served food. Baileys Coffee also well done! Try the trufle fries - You will not regret. Seafood chowder delicious. Fulfilling. Lovely lights if you’re sitting outside. Inside warm and old-world and artsy. Recommendable!"
"Overall out experience here was good but let down by a few things, read on. On arrival we were seated very quickly to our indoor table (pre-booked). The restaurant was fairly empty and we could only see two other tables occupied. Our food and drinks order taken quickly. The drinks arrived but no beer mats provided, a small thing but I like beer mats. I ordered steak (medium) so it took about 20 minutes for our food to arrive which is fine. What wasn't fine was that three out of the four plates had medium hot fries. My steak and mushrooms were delicious, my wife enjoyed her burger while the other two family members thoroughly enjoyed their fish (hake). It's worth mentioning that nobody bothered to ask us if we were happy with our meal. After we finished our meal, we were never asked if we'd like dessert but maybe the staff could read our minds? Upon asking for the bill, it was rudely dropped on our table with some words mumbled about it being our bill. As for the bill, we were charged €6 for the Heineken and €3 for the 7-up, this I thought it was cheeky but maybe it's standard practice? Just a quick word on the interior. It had lots of old paintings but none of them around us looked like they were of Dalkey. This is such a shame as Dalkey is such a beautiful place. So would we go back? No we won't waddle back to The Dalkey Duck anytime soon."
