"Never been goulash and the dumplings are literally a sliced loaf. Use your loaf and don’t come here. The sauce lacked any sort of flavour and the service wasn’t anything to shout about either. For €18 it’s way overpriced. It’s as basic as it gets! I’ve been to Prague and this place isn’t it."
"Needed a place to sit after walking round Dublin and coming back from the Guinness factory... Popped in for a pint and rest the feet. Saw a few plates on other tables and looked good so grabbed a menu to have lunch. We'll worth it. Definitely finish with the honey cake."
"Great neighbourhood pub that do Czech food in Dublin. Service was pretty quick too. We ordered their goulash and chicken burger. The goulash had a fairly decent level of spiciness and the meat was super tender. The chicken burger was well made, as the chicken itself was seasoned well and was also beautifully caramelised. Finally, for dessert, we ordered marlenka (honey cake) and strudel. The contrasting textures of the honey cake and the fact that it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet made it enjoyable. We had a good time at Pilsner and would go back again!"
"Good food and reasonably priced beer. Pint of Guiness €5.50. Try shots called fireball."
"Ok, so this place was recommended to me by a Czech friend, I'd been meaning to go for so long, and eventually managed last weekend. It's a bit of a walk out of town, about twenty minutes for the halpenny bridge, but worth it. The staff were ace, we got to sit at the bar which is amazing after covid. They have a great selection of beer and the Pilsner is bang on, served in a proper tankard style glass too. The staff noticed when the drink was getting low and offered the next, which I love. They have a bunch of TVs with sport on which is fab. We stayed for a bit, so ended up eating. I asked what was the best to taste Czech or Slovak food. So we got 3 dishes; Pifko beef goulash, with the beef so tender, beef in vegetable cram sauce, with amazing dumplings, and potato dumpling with sheep cheese and crispy bacon. I admit it doesn't sound that appetising but was amazing, a mix between risotto and German Spaetzle. Fantastic stuff. Highly recommended, definitely worth the walk, I'll be back."
