"Waste of your money and time… I don’t understand the hype. I got a dry toast with a quarter of a slice of pastrami for 7,5€ and my pastry 3€ was definitely not fresh. It was hard and dry. The prices are very high for that what you get. The quality of our food was not very good. We have to say the coffee was really tasty. But that was it. You have to wait like half an hour or longer. The waitress did not come and the service was very slow in general. But they were friendly. The cafe was very cold we had to sit in wearing jumpers or Jackets. Next to us was a family with shouting and playing children. So the atmosphere was like a train station. I think a little bit suiting to the tram cafe… coincidence? I don’t know if this is normal here but for us was this morning really disappointing. All in all one of the worst cafe experiences in a long time. We will not come again"
"Just leaving the Tram, I ordered a breakfast roll and specified no pesto, roll arrives covered in pesto, as I was in company I declined the offer of a new roll, can't for the life of me understand why you put put pesto and lots of it on a breakfast roll in the first place. We all ate our rolls but all three of us thought the pesto was all we could taste. Great spot to sit and have a coffee but hold back on the pesto."
"This is a hidden gem of a cafe and I just love it. Soft music playing often with a French tone. Outdoor seating with cover and a gorgeous indoor warm and cosy firelit seated area. V shabby chic but feels comfortable and classy. My favourite is the hummus sandwich. Best around in my opinion. I leave feeling relaxed, well fed and ready for the rest of the day!"
"One star for the location and the setting. One star for the hot food which has greatly improved over the last few months. One star for the pastries as they are very good and my faves are often gone by the time I get over there. The coffee does not get a star as it is so inconsistent. More often bad that good these days. I likely will not get coffee there again but I will go back for the food."
"Location and the building itself get 5 stars. However, I deducted 2 stars due to the prices and the quality of the food and drinks. 3 of our group ordered hot coffees (latte and americanos), all complained the coffee was far too hot (americano was undrinkable for >5 minutes). The cardboard cups didn't have a sleeve, and were uncomfortable to hold. I had an iced latte, it was nice, but nothing special. None of the coffees were worth the price. 2 of our group had breakfast rolls which cost €7.50 each. Neither finished them. Pesto on a breakfast roll is going to be hugely divisive anyway. However, they both had huge rinds of fat on the rasher and were not tasty. I had a sausage roll which was tiny and cost €3.50 - had a very odd taste. The sausage:pastry ratio was way off with a huge lump of sausage meat surrounded by a stingy coating of pastry (the perfect ratio it's a fine balance and should be respected!). The sausage meat tasted like the entire herb and spice shelf spilled into it. Possibly a bad batch, but it was a very strange taste and wasnt pleasant. The pastries were lovely. One person ordered a strawberry ice-cream sundae and loved it. Overall, a very cool spot. Prices are not in proportion to the quality of the food or that of the service or experience there. The fact dogs are welcome is fantastic and gives major brownie points. I also really liked the interior which had Irish historical books on display. Nice to see."
