"I recently stopped by for coffee and croissant here (normally I just get take away). It tends to be quite crowded during lunch time but if you try a bit off times (10am), most of the tables are available. I had a quick bite. Croissant was absolutely delicious and it came with butter, jam and cream. Very rich service. Coffee is always on the high-end here, it terms of richness of the taste. I enjoyed both the taste and service. But it is on the pricier and. 1 croissant and cofffe -for almost 8€! I guess that is Avoca prices, if you are OK with it, you can enjoy your experience."
"The staff were lovely. However the cafe was extremely busy and there were very few staff. Service wasn't great as there were so few staff"
"Because I have been a satisfied regular customer with their food market, I wanted to try their restaurant food. I went here recently only to find the menu to have reduced from what was listed on their website. The staff were very welcoming and accommodative. General service was good. One of the girls came in and asked if we were done eating while one of the plates was almost full and the other with a little left, this was only 15-20 mins after the food was served to us. We just told her that we are almost done and by then she took the plates to clear up the place, we didn't stop either as the plates were lifted. For paying over 50 euros to eat and not even letting us finish a meal was disappointing. There were people still dining and it wasn't the closing time either, maybe it was accidental but this has created an ill feeling within and will never dine here again. But otherwise the food was well prepared."
"I’ve never tasted a better linguine at a cafe in Dublin.. it was buttery, creamy and just so OMG!! And an amazing Pan seared Cod.. totally floored.. desperately waiting to get back here.."
"Well we go to Avoca for coffee every weekend for the last 3 years, normally outside. For the last 3 weeks we have been in the restaurant. Service has been bad, young untrained staff with no guidance... But this week took the biscuit. Most tables empty in the front of the place when we arrived at 2.15. The tables at the back were full of people sitting on top of each other. We were shown to a table down the back in a corner. We Asked to sit at one of the 4 nice tables that were empty but was told the Computer would not allow that. Those tables remained empty for the next 2 hours. The service was slow. Coffee was poor. While booked for 3 we became 5, jammed in the dark area ..... Surrounded by empty tables in the airy part of the restaurant. The staff are young, inexperienced and with no guidance. One guy and one girl were trying their best, one girl didn't give a dam. So not a good experience three weeks in a row. Having been very regular customers we will now move on. Pity!"
