Reviews
"Bit pricey. Two tills, one self service. Most stock you would expect from a local shop. No public toilet. Few parking spots outside. Cash machine outside. Open 7am-11pm"
"Handy convenience store ,recently refurbished, with better upgraded fridges and shelves . Always fully stocked now apparently, Friendly staff and pleasant banter is often heard exchanged. This store is the only one in peacehaven that is open from 7-11. I'm sure that this later shopping option isI greatly appreciated by the local community As many other local stores seem to have decreased their opening hours during the pandemic And have not reverted back since."
"Awful, awful staff. I cannot think of a place I have walked into in recent years with more of a hostile classroom environment where the staff are treating the place like a social club and clogging the tiny walkways finishing their personal gossip, rather than getting out of the way of shoppers. All the staff, particularly the younger women and one young man have constant sullen expressions even when you approach them at the till and you really get made to feel you are an inconvenience just by shopping there. Not sure smiling, or 'good morning/afternoon' is on the regional induction course. In agreement with another review on this page, I have also found the COVID-19 measures being taken in this store to be incredibly confusing (I do appreciate the store is small and these are difficult times for everyone) and when you potentially initially don't understand them, staff seem to become incredibly aggressive and snappy, instead of helpful or explanatory."
"Today as I shopped at my local Tesco express I was told by an employee that I now know to be Jamie Walters that I should move back more to the line on the floor, I did this and he then told me to get behind the line ? ( I was standing directly on it) when I refused to do this he went on to tell me I was barred from the shop and proceeded to snatch my basket away and demanded I leave the shop. ..I..can honestly say that I have never been so humiliated as I was today. The doors in the store were open and the queue of customers outside the shop witnessed the whole event ... I have shopped in this store for 10+yrs and never have any of the staff there been disrespectful as this man was to me . I tried to get the managers contact details and he told me his phone was broken ?? The rest of the staff looked totally shocked and kept saying sorry to me as I left..."
"Went shopping with my daughter who is 16 years old and had a basket with bread sweets milk and 2 x energy drinks. I got to the till and got questioned about my daughter and asked if the energy drink was for her and I replied NO and was then refused to be sold the energy drinks unless I could provide ID for both of us !!!! I left the shopping there and then and walked out of the shop as so embarrassed. If I take my niece in who is 4 in there will I gave to provide ID for her to... the fact that I was shopping for my family and got refused to be sold a product because I had a young adult with me is ridiculous and this is horrible to think that Tesco is basically stopping families shopping together unless you all take your passport with you. Will parents have to leave there children outside in push chairs or in there cars and had to when I went to the next shop just I case I got asked and embarrassed in the next shop I went to. If a customer of appropriate age says that the product they are buying is not for the child / young adult then the product should be sold... very embarrassing"
