"Perfect place for a delicious evening meal. The menu is varied and creative, the venue snug and full of character and the chef and owner, Richard Ellis, an amazing chap who was happy to chat through his menu and his incredible culinary book collection which added interest to an already wonderful evening. I had the gnocchi as a main course (on the menu as a starter) and the bowl of fantastic flavours and textures filled the spot perfectly. The pears poached in wine and served with an amazing chocolate chilli sauce was a chocolate lover’s dream but my husband’s banana split was equally incredible. Each menu item took many familiar and otherwise ordinary ingredients and mixed them up, adding flavours and twists to create something totally out of the ordinary and utterly delicious. This appears to be one of Norwich’s best kept secrets as an evening dining venue, even though it is very popular as a day time coffee shop. It deserves to be rammed every evening."
"Much bigger inside than it looks on the outside. Lovely place steeped in heritage on the old cobbled streets of the city. We went in for lunch and to get out the rain :-) Small but varied menu with plenty of choice plus selection of cakes Was very good value for money and freshly cooked homemade food. More importantly, bloody good coffee ;-) Definitely be back !"
"What a cosy place to eat! Me and my fiance decided to have afternoon tea which had some very tasty sandwich options and sweet cakes for a very reasonable price. The service was faultless and attentive even when busy at times. Will definitely try and return for another meal!"
"I met some good friends for lunch and had a wonderful time. We currently have a rabbit problem at home, so it was very pleasing to see rabbit on the menu. How could I resist?"
"I found out here by accident and turned out reallt good choice! They have really good menu options including foods and desserts. The atmosphere is recommended to read or stay shortly. The staff is nice!"
