"What can I say... the food was amazing, some of if not the nest food I've had in a long time. The wine compliment the food so well. The owner and the staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. If you're looking for a hidden gem in Lucan Seasons on the Weir is the Place to go."
"Dined here first for lunch on Christmas Eve as a family, and had a wonderful experience. We left raving about the place, excited to return. All of the tapas we tried were excellent and the wine and cocktails were also good. The decor, too, is absolutely gorgeous - it’s a beautiful space. The waitress that we’ve had twice now remembered us from our first visit and is very pleasant and professional. As they have recently started a brunch menu we were keen to come back and try it. Unfortunately the experience this Sunday didn’t match the same standard as the first time. First of all we had made a booking for 12pm, so found it a bit odd that that morning on their Instagram story we saw “we are open from 12:30, pop in” but as our booking had been confirmed by text by the owner for 12 we headed down for then. We were met by confused faces, an empty restaurant and the owner saying “you know we don’t open till 1?” This, coupled with the fact that Google advertises the place as opening at 4:30pm on a Sunday (and the website doesn’t have any info on opening times at all) is very confused messaging, to say nothing of the fact that brunch usually does start in the morning rather than the afternoon. We weren’t in any rush though so said we’d go for a walk down by the Weir and come back in a while, no bother. When we came back we perused an interesting menu of mainly lunch items but I was in the mood for a classic breakfast so ordered Eggs Benedict, a favourite of mine. What arrived was definitely the worst Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. First of all Eggs Benedict suggests plural eggs; what I received should be called Egg Benedict. Secondly, the pool of clearly split hollandaise sauce on the not-so-fresh tasting English muffin is just sad! Described as coming with classic Canadian bacon - as someone that lived in Canada for years I can confirm that the anaemic rasher pictured (again, one single piece) was not classic or Canadian. The poached egg was perfectly cooked, that’s about the only positive I can think to give the dish. €14 was a crazy price for what I got, also. To give them their dues, they gave us free coffees to make up for keeping us waiting, which was a nice gesture, but I wouldn’t have minded the wait or to pay for our own coffees if we’d gotten to eat something delicious. My mum got eggs and avocado which was fine - at least she got two eggs! - albeit with the slightly odd combo of flaked almonds on top. As the only people in there that ordered the two breakfast-y items on the menu, we did notice that everyone around us was ordering lunch items and they all looked fantastic - tacos, croquettes and the baked Camembert especially - so we really regretted our choices. Maybe breakfast isn’t the chef’s specialty? But then don’t put those items on the menu. I feel Lucan has been crying out for a place like this, amongst all the middle of the road gastropub food in the village, and was so excited to see it open. I really want to give them loads of business and to see them succeed - that’s why I think feedback like this is important, especially as brunch is a new venture for them. I will definitely be back for brunch again but will be going for the tacos next time I think. I hope to see the standard of the breakfast improve."
"Such a nice meal in Seasons. Super staff who were able to tells us 4 specials from memory plus wines. Food was really well presented and very tasty. The room itself is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is perfect. Such a great addition to Lucan village, something that has been missing for a while. I hope they get the support they deserve."
