"I tried to get a emergency appointment back in November I was told I'd be put on a waiting list. They rang me a week later to tell me I could attend an appointment that was in 45 minutes of which I explained I was working away and wouldn't get to in time. They then rang me a few days after that offering me two days notice but it was in the middle of night shifts for me and I explained I'd need to see if I can swap my shifts with someone to attend and the receptionist said I could say yes or no immediately if I booked it and then cancelled I'd be fined a cancellation fee and they couldn't hold the appointment while I spoke to my work to which I said well it's safer for me to say no then as I don't know if I could swap my shifts to attend and she very rudely and aggressively said as it was the second emergency appointment I was "declining" she would have to remove my name from the list and I've received no further contact regarding emergency appointments. I ended up having to pay to go private just before Christmas. I understand it's a busy practice and there's clearly high demand but it's the rude and aggressive reception staff that's a serious problem at this dentist. Especially for those of us who have a phobia of the dentist and it takes a lot for us to even call to book an appointment. Reply to comment made: I was called 3 times total. They never gave me chance to see if I could swap my shift to attend the second appointment offered even when I asked could I ring them right back. They forced me to decline the second appointment offered that is not having a patients best interest at heart that is bullying and coercion. I was working night shifts it's not like I can just nip out in my working day to attend I needed five minutes to call work and that was not allowed by the Cripps reception staff. If that's them caring I'd hate to see how they treat patients on a bad day of theirs."
"Went recently to see Patrick C. Been a patient since i joined at Uni some 20+yrs ago! Fab service from receptionists and extremely tidy and pleasant environment to be in. Even the parking was easy! These are difficult times for the NHS and I’m so fortunate to be a patient at Cripps Dental. Thankyou team!"
"This is possibly the worse dentist in the world. There are more receptionist than actual dentist, and due to a national shortage of NHS dentists, they've opted to get as many NHS patients as possible off their books or get them to pay for private treatment. They should close the business; the reception staff are sleezy & dishonest."
"A quite shocking service and an awful attitude from the receptionist. I have been a Cripps client for more than 30 years but I guess loyalty and continuity counts for so little in todays world. I phoned to make an appointment as obviously there was a very limited service during the pandemic. Only to be told I had been sent 3 emails and had not responded and had been struck from their client list. I can say hand on heart that never in my life have I had an email from Cripps, only telephone or text communications. The receptionist seemed to be so joyous in telling me that I could no longer attend as a NHS patient but could have a private check up for £100 plus the cost of X-rays. Not a good experience at all after 30 years of complete loyalty apart from not being keen to attend in the pandemic. I would reiterate that despite their reply below I have never received an email from Cripps EVER. I believe the other reviews to be correct that they are just ruthlessly shedding NHS patients - avoid them. And I would like to remind the receptionist that politeness and respect to a long standing client should be a matter of course, it used to be something that mattered. Judging by the collective reviews - it is not something that matters to Cripps, to be rated as the worst dentist in the world by someone is really going some."
"I've been a patient for over a decade. In that time I've had various dentists and work ranging from check ups and a cleans to a dental implant (thank you Neil and Tej). I have found the quality of work and communication to be consistently high. My wife and daughters have had the same experience. There's a waiting list because dental treatment is in high demand in the UK and the quality of care here is high. Very much recommended."
