"On my first visit for MOT, owner was being rude to me because I knew a person that he hates and made sure I know it. Car had no problems so he added "dented door" in advisory section, I don't see how does this make my car unsafe to drive. On my second visit I went there for wheel alignment and asked them to identify which on the idle rollers bearing is worn out as its making humming noise. Wheel alignment was done pretty well but when they were identifying which bearing was on the way out, they broke my belt tensioner and didn't mention it. I only found out after I inspected everything myself, also idle roller was making a very bad and very loud noise after they "touched" it. It is one of those garages where your car comes out in a worse condition than you take it in. New idler roller was £30 when new tensioner that they broke cost me extra £160, which ofcourse I had to pay. I strongly do not recommend to go there, they have terrible mechanics with terrible attitude and is very expensive place."

"Absolutely awful service, called the garage to see if they could help me out with fitting a park, understandably they won’t fit the part because I was supplying it however the The way I was treated on the phone as a customer was dreadful. Maybe he was having a bad day but I wouldn’t go there my self"

"Appalling DO NOT USE Checked the other reviews to see if it was just me What a surprise It wasnt Took car for a service Dropped it off at 8am as agreed At 10:15 rang the garage to see if there was an update as to what time it would be ready and was told tea-time A little surprised i said 'Tea Time?' The rest of the conversation witnessed by my employer who was sat next to me left me speechless The owner accused me of being rude to him on the phone and rude when I dropped the car off and then put the phone down on me My boss confirmed to me that i hadnt been rude which I was pretty sure of. When I went to pick the car up, assuming it was ready as the owner hadn't had the courtesy to ring and say it was ready, he once again acuused me of being rude to him 'If you ever talk to me like that again we'll have a problem' Excellent customer skills When I pointed out to him that the earlier phone call had been witnessed by my employer, his mood altered to 'Well we'll leave it there then' Thankfully I'll never have to use this dreadful garage again"

"Really good. They managed to get me in for an MOT and fix a coolant leak at the same time. They phoned me to keep me up to date with everything that was needed - for the MOT, new windscreen wipers (and I they really did need changing after 6 years) and progress updates with the leak. I really don't know how they could've done a better job. People seem to be complaining that the person they spoke to was rude to them. I can't say I found this. It was the mechanics who called me to keep me up to date and theyvwere really pleasant. The guy on the front desk wasn't exactly chatty, but I was dropping off my car for an MOT - how much conversation do you expect first thing in the morning? He wasn't rude, he just did his job efficiently and without frills. And the job they did was excellent and done much faster than expected. 5 stars from me."

"Always really helpful, reasonably priced and excellent customer service. I always feel that they are going to do the best for my vehicle and they will put themselves out to help. My husbands car broke down on the driveway and they fixed it the same day. We now have both cars serviced annually here and after a year having mine serviced somewhere else when I bought a new car I will be sticking to Jim Steel as they are above and beyond the service I got at a well branded garage in Derby. I trust them to do a great job and also listen to budgets when things don't go to plan happily recommend them to friends and family and anyone local to the Beeston area."
