"First time visiting since before covid and sorry to say it will be my last, despite Yo sushi previously being a favourite place to eat. The food no longer comes round on the conveyor to just pick as you want, you now have to order it on an app which immediately takes the soul out of a restaurant for a start, IMO (plus what do you do if you dont have a mobile with you?). All the staff do is make drinks and clear tables which must be pretty boring. There is much less choice now and the prices are double what they used to be. The food is okay, but I feel the quality has gone down quite a bit. I had to ask for the water I ordered and my friend had to chase up his chips. The crockery and glasses were old and scratched. Everything seemed a bit tired. It's not the same fun experience it used to be. I'd rather just go to a proper restaurant for sushi in the future. 1 disappointing star out of 5 :("
"1st time visit with an excited 11 Yr old. Met at the door and taken straight to a table. The staff member explained the ordering system and how food is delivered and lights on the little conveyor belt. Once order was placed and paid for, food started to arrive at the table. Seems the light system doesn't work as we managed to miss our food twice!! Had an issue with food not being cooked/sent to table. After asking twice the chef delivered it to the table with a sincere apology and full refund on that item. Every item we ate tasted great and my son was very happy with the sour apple drink. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. Would definitely return but would have to be a special occasion as food is quite expensive."
"Not a fan of the new ordering system, food is taking a lot longer to come out as you can't just take food off the belt as it goes round, I feel for the chefs having to cook multiple different dishes instead of making on mass and putting them on the belt, The food is still lovely but the time it takes, I now question is it worth the wait. The guy working the shop floor is also cooking and not able clear tables, seat guest or provide drinks."
"I knew going in that this was going to be a little more than I typically spend on a meal out, but found the dishes to be well worth the higher pricing. It's not often I eat with the kitchen directly in front of my table, but was pleased with how friendly and accommodating the staff have been. The points on the online menu suddenly dropped from 48 to 32 with no explanation or purchase? Other than that though, excellent experience all-round!"
"This was my first time back at Yo Sushi since before the pandemic. Whilst the menu seems greatly reduced, the food is still nice. I enjoyed the Korean Fried Chicken, which was spicy but super sweet. The takoyaki were decent as were the Korean chicken gyoza. I am disappointed that there's no longer tamago nigiri though!"
