"I've stayed here a few times. Lydia is lovely. The rooms are large. Most of all the location is stunning. Nice and quiet."
"Toad Lodge was very cute, stylish and the staff were extremely friendly. Me and my boyfriend only spent one night in Bristol, but at least we did it in style! As an avid frog enthusiast myself, I can not recommend Toad Lodge enough for all your for frog-based accommodation needs. Especially in Bristol. The location was ideal for visiting family in Redland, and walking distance from all the city sites we wanted to see. All the froggy decorations were delightful. Even the wifi password had me chuckling. Toad Lodge is so very close to what my dream home would look like, if I had a less boring boyfriend. The driveway is available for parking, but depending on how many other guests are visiting, you might have some troubles! We happened to get boxed in by another car, but its owners had thoughtfully placed a note at the front desk, so we knew which door to go knocking on once we wanted to leave :) We had breakfast in the communal Dining Room and chatted with other guests. One couple was rather young and had stopped in Bristol for a concert on their way to Torque to see a tattoo artist. Another couple were quite a bit older and said they had been coming to Toad Lodge for years, whenever they came to see family in Bristol. They had fond memories of Madam Toad throughout the years! Even if you're not as interested in frogs as I am, you'd be hard pressed to leave Toad Lodge without a giggle and fun story to share with others. It's a blessing to find accommodation with so much character at a reasonable price. Make sure to check out their website. As someone who works in digital marketing, it's the best hotel website I've ever seen. I was instantly sold."
"It's a cute place, friendly and informal. There are toads everywhere - there's a metal toad brass band by the entrance, the waste basket in my room was a big plastic toad, even the light pull in the bathroom was a tiny toad. I booked by phone and was offered the choice of a single for £45 or an en suite for £50. I chose the en suite. The room was cute enough, with TV and the usual tea/coffee making facilities. There was also a wash- hand basin in the room, which puzzled me, since it had an en suite bathroom - until I checked the bathroom. It was really a large cupboard, with room only for the shower and lavatory - which explained why the basin was outside. But it was clean, well-maintained, and the shower was good. My main problem was the bed - there were two rather small twin beds, side by side. That was bearable, but sleeping under a single duvet was a challenge - trying to keep all my bits covered on a very cold night meant it took a while to fall asleep, but eventually I did, waking up too late to catch breakfast. I guess it's fine for a B&B ( it's been a while), but I think next time I will look for a cheap hotel."
"Lovely place to stay. So many toads! Very homely. Only four though as bed was squeaky which was disturbing during the night, and the shower was quite difficult to operate (going between Arctic and Sahara temperatures with not much warning). Other than that, thank you for having us!"
