"A group of us stayed for a friends 50th at Waterside Lodges Number 16 at the start of December. The lodge was amazing! Lovely and toasty warm on arrival on a cold winters day. The place was clean throughout. Keys in the locked box outside and the code is sent prior to arrival. It's on 3 levels. Top, mid and bottom. Top floor - had a beautiful fully fitted kitchen with all cooking utensils, pots n pans, plates, glasses and crockery. Tea, coffee and sugar provided with some milk in the fridge to start us off (nice touch). Lovely table and chairs to seat 8. Seating area with large sofas, TV, wood fire and doors open out onto a seated balcony. Mid floor - had a twin room with ensuite and balcony views, a separate double bedroom with a separate bathroom. Bottom floor - down some carpeted stairs and one double bedroom and also a twin room which had a fantastic ensure, double doors leading out to the hot tub area. Morrisons and Tescos are nearby. We had sandwich platters to make lunchtime easy. Lovely walk nearby at Cromwell's Bottom which seemed popular for walkers and dog walkers. Millers Bar in Brighouse for a vegetarian Sunday lunch topped off the weekend. On leaving at 5.30pm it was quite dark and the security light only lit the side of the property. Sensor lights are needed on the front of the property where cars are parked otherwise very dark to navigate. We used our camera phones to assist packing the cars and putting the rubbish into recycling."
"We had a lovely stay, the lodge's were beautiful well equipped and clean. Well worth the price. The only one thing I would recommend is putting a sign at the roadside as the entrance is not easy to see."
"Stayed in lodge 16 end of July to meet family/friends. First impression was that it was a somewhat grubby and worn and not quite like the booking photos. Also 2 ensuite rooms are big enough but the other 2 barely fit the double bed in, lounge small for 8. I doubt I would return as I think you can find better quality accommodation for the money. On the plus point I liked the area, lots of good walks on the doorstep through adjacent nature reserve and along Calder navigation. You can reach Brighouse or Elland in 35min walk either way, good real ale in The Red Rooster and especially the Barge & Barrel in Elland. Food was good and portions generous at the Casa Brighouse 20mins away."
"Stayed in lodge 16, 8 of us plus a dog. We loved the views and the fact that we weren't over looked at all. Set in a valley, it was lovely and warm sat on the terrace watching and listening to the wildlife in the surrounding nature reserve. A very relaxing and peaceful stay which is exactly what we wanted. Will definitely return."
"Really lovely lodges. Went for a friend's hen. Plenty of space, the hot tub was great, and the beds were comfy. Only downside is it's not near anything so it was hard to find decent restaurants or places to go for a night out from the lodge. There is a nature reserve next door that you can have a short walk around. Very muddy however! Parking was a little awkward as many of us had cars but we made it work. Probably wouldn't go back but Purley for the fact it was a 4 hour trip for me and the hen party and wasn't THAT worth the long trip due to reasons above."
