"I took my van here for its MOT , it failed on the reasons given ….all 4 brake pipes excessively corroded ! The price they quoted to repair was £360 + vat and advised it could cost me more if the mechanics had to stay back . My partner thought this was a little expensive so he decided to call MCC in Bradford for a quote , ( he has used this garage in the past with no problems but as they do not MOT class 7s we decided it would be easier to go to a garage closer to home for the work ) The price MCC quoted was £160 + vat , a huge difference in price . We collected the van and booked it in at MCC to get the repairs done , we dropped it off today only to be told they wouldn’t be doing the work as there was NOTHING WRONG with the brake pipes and that they couldn’t justify taking the money from us . As they don’t do mots on class 7s they recommended we take it to another garage for it to be tested . Would you believe it passed with only an advisory on the brake pipes , they couldn’t believe it had failed and even more shocked at the price we had been quoted . So that was 2 garages telling me that the brake pipes were fine and it should of passed the MOT My partner phoned total car care to complain and inform him of what we had been told , he tried to discredit MCC not realising it was a different MCC garage we had used also he was very condescending as another reviewer had previously mentioned . Needless to say we won’t be returning and as advised I will be reporting this to DVSA"
