About the Business
Welcome to South Yorkshire Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization located at 359 South Rd in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Here at our animal rescue center, we specialize in caring for and rehoming dogs, cats, and other small animals, with a mission to ensure the humane treatment of all creatures great and small.
Founded in 1995, South Yorkshire Animal Rescue has been dedicated to providing a safe haven for abandoned and neglected animals, as well as educating the public about animal welfare issues. Our team of trained staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide the best possible care for our furry friends, no matter their breed, age, or history.
Across our spacious, purpose-built facilities, we offer comfortable accommodation for all our animals, with separate units for different species to ensure their safety and wellbeing. We provide high-quality nutrition, exercise, and medical care for all animals during their stay at our rescue center.
But our work doesn't stop there - we believe in finding loving, permanent homes for all our rescues. We carefully assess each animal and work with prospective adopters to find the perfect match, ensuring a smooth transition into their new homes.
At South Yorkshire Animal Rescue, we're not just a place for animals - we're also here for our community. We offer support and advice for pet owners, as well as educational programs for schools and groups on responsible animal ownership and welfare.
So if you're looking for a furry companion, or simply want to support our mission, come and visit us at South Yorkshire Animal Rescue. We're open every day except for Wednesdays, and we'd love to introduce you to our wonderful animals. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of animals in need.

"A little confusing but typically what charities do. They lure you in with emotions and deliver on very little. A member of my family who lives 50 meters from one of the biggest parks in the area was turned down for a dog because they didn't have a garden. They would rather let a dog live and die in a cage under their care than home them. Total BS and I for one will never support this charity again."
"Nice little shop, there was also a very handsome and friendly cat in there"
"The person running this shop does so without any gain to himself! I have been into the shop and purchased many a bargain and I only take my charity wares to this shop ! It is hard for just himself to run this business as he no longer as a helper ! Charity shops are not a normal run business ( 9 to 5 ) and they do it out of kindness ! Writing reviews to put people off going isn’t a positive way forward or helping the animals involved, anyone who is willing to help animals or people need support not slagging off ! I think he does a brilliant job and I commend him !!! Melanie"
"When we went in there today the owner told us that the charity shop half was closed off. We then started looking through the books he had on sale, which were in the other half of the shop, throughout the 10ish minutes we were looking at the books he didn't say anything to us. Once we had settled on a book we weren't allowed to buy it and were berated for wasting his time and asked to leave, as apparently he was only selling pet food/accessories that day, for no discernible reason! He failed to clarify this at all while we were obviously looking at the books he had for sale, there's no chance he didn't realise, as we were the only people in the shop. I have found good things in this charity shop before, but the owner seems to actively hate anyone who comes into his shop just to have a browse. Stay away unless you want to be treated like dirt."
"This shop is a massive disappointment. Not because of the content but because of how terrible the service in there is. The main man running the shop is awful. He tells customers they waste his time if they don't buy pet supplies and dose not care at all for the charity shop side of the store. He is rude to customers and as a result the shop that could thrive for its great charity shop finds, doesn't. Honestly, don't bother going. It's a very bad shopping experience."
