"Decided to go here to see the spring bulbs, so looking forward to it for a couple of weeks. Go to check details today to discover you have to buy tickets at least the day before you want to go!?! What sort of ridiculous system is that? Bad enough going through all the faff of having to book tickets, as opposed to just going for a day out. Never been a problem before. Not a problem for many other places of interest. Wouldn't be a problem if you could buy your ticket before setting off. But having to buy tickets at least one day in advance is just crazy. Spoilt our weekend. Won't bother visiting in future out of principle. Plenty of other places to go."
"The grounds, charm, location and staff make this such a worthwhile visit. Just 10 minutes to Harrogate. Breakfast was of the highest quality (coffee was perfect!) lots of options on the menu. Tea in the Drawing Room with large log fire was a welcome break from the rain - we were unlucky not to be able to ealk around this beautiful setting."
"For what the hotel markets itself as, this hotel is only ‘good’. The most luxurious bit is looking at the building from the outside. Also the skeleton staff are lovely and the three main public rooms are beautiful. Our room, not so much. Still in the realms of nursing home I think. I know it costs A LOT especially now more than ever to run a place like this. But I don’t think it should be as obvious that you’re running it as frugally as appears to be the case here."
"Goldsborough Hall – A fine dining experience! GH is a beautiful 16th-century historic house, a hidden gem just outside Harrogate. I’ve been fortunate to have stayed several times, enjoying the immaculately kept gardens and far reaching views across tranquil countryside. This five star luxury hotel is the perfect place to stay. The dining experience is first class, the AA 3 Rosette restaurant is a wonderful place to dine, you must try the tasting menu and wine paring for a truly remarkable culinary experience. Fresh produce, some of which is grown in their own kitchen garden, allows for some of the tastiest dishes you can imagine. Time for a Michelin star, I think so, it’s that good!"
"Very nice place with great gardens! This hotel is prestigious and in a very lovely part of the UK! A hidden gem for sure! Staff are very good and very accommodating. The two butler's Jeeves and Parker are very nice addition to the team!"
