"Excellent site. Lovely and clean. Nice big pitch. Can walk to Carriers arms about 1 mile. Although quite a dark road, need a torch."
"An ok site. We were picked up on our membership. cards being out of date on arrival and yet they could see on the screen that we had paid our membership. I explained we had been away for a long time and hadn't been able to pick them up. We were then shown to our pitch and the staff member made a huge deal of how we parked emphasizing that we must park with with our front wheel on the white peg with the awning to the right and keep 6 metres from our neighbour. The next day when we arrived back at the site after a walk we had new neighbours and they had parked their caravan with no adherence to the white markers literally less than 4m from ours not the 6m they advertise for safety. And that's how it was left for the next 2 days until we left despite staff walking by!!! On our last day the sun was shining so we decided to do our laundry and the room was locked and no staff around to ask, we tried the door numerous times and there were no staff around at all. Eventually a few hours later I saw a member of staff parking a new arrival & when asked he said it had been locked so that the staff could do their laundry which I understand but what about the campers too? And a notice would have helped. The facilities are ok there were only 3 toilets open ( 2 were locked!) whilst I was there and it was half term so quite busy, personally I think they should have all been open given how busy it was. I also don't know if it was the amount of footfall, or the weather or a combination of both but they didn't stay clean that long either. Another point is that there are huge pot holes around the site which are severe for driving but also for walking around particularly when it's dark, make sure you bring a torch If you are out and about at night. That being said the site is situated right next to Delamere Forest with lots of trails for walking and cycling at your doorstep and Go Ape There were big queues at the Visitor centre cafe (half term) but the station cafe next door was relatively quiet and much nicer. A nice pub a mile down the road too, the Carriers Inn and it's dog friendly. Lots of geese flying over in the morning and night and also the lovely sounds of owls so you do get a sense of being in the woods. But on the downside it's close to the busy road and the station too, so don't forget your ear plugs."
"Perfect location close to transport and of course right in Delamere forest. Clean and very well kept. Staff are so friendly, kind and always smiling. We are so lucky to have this an hours drive away. Kids love coming here just as much as we do."
"It’s nice that the site is rather flat, the staff are pleasant and helpful, the facilities are kept clean, and they sell some essentials on-site. However the gates have an 11pm curfew which almost ruined our stay, so if you plan to have long days out of activity and exploring then you will get locked out of the site and you can’t park anywhere in the near vicinity. One thing of note is that when we packed away our things to leave, we found a number of lizards under our groundsheet which we weren’t expecting."
