"I went to outlaw customs ltd in 2017 wanting my na conversion to tt done, I thought I was going to get the best race car ever, what I got back was a chocolate engine that eventually melted a piston. I spent £8,200 with Mike all my life savings I had for it to be done, when I Collected it I was taken back by what felt like my engine was gasping for its last breath, I didn't know if to drive it or call 999 & call for help. it had erratic hunting on tick over. I was told it needed a new maf & CAS, it was still mapped, I took it away and broke down some 6 times in less then 6 months. it drank more fuel & oil then half the cars in the UK put together. I asked Mike why I, was told, its one of those things. wow really. the timing was checked by a reputable 300zx specialist just before it melted no. 6 piston & the timing was so far out that it must of been done with a blow torch. I had lies after lies told to me because at the time I was blinded by what I thought was friendship, really he was just lying his way through the warranty period. I wouldn't go to this man again for free. he actually believes that he's one of the best specialists around it's a joke. I've since had my 300zx re done and 1 year on I've not seen the back of a recovery truck. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED... (EDITED) my reply AGAIN as you've changed yours again. when I first collected it 2017, it was running erratic, yes I did have a cas fitted but I didn't do it, a mechanic did it, it was then taken back to finish off the mapping at the same mapper that you recommended to every one at the time, how could any of the timing of changed, the cas position was totally off the radar from day one & loads of people pointed it out, it started to break down not to long after it was built and continued to break down regularly, they was on my fb so I'm not lying. you took my car back after it finally failed some 18 months later, but you soon sent me away with my car in complete bits & unfortunately you didn't want to know about it unless I threw loads more money at it with you. (look at the photo's, look at the state it was in when I collected it) I was mentally & financially destroyed. about your report on my engine failing. you already pulled it to bits first then when you didn't want to know and you thought you'd found a good enough reason to not except responsibility, ONLY then did you get this engineers report done. how do i know it was done on my engine, it was in bits, some engineers report that was. there wasn't no engine numbers on the report there was just photo's of an engine in bits and of my car but nothing to clarify it was mine being looked at. but as you know I'm long term ill & i gave you every single penny I had saved up over many years and I couldn't afford to have no more done to it. i then spent about 1 year going to solicitors and mostly to the citizens advice bureau, 'as they are free'. i was mentally and financially just ruined and I was falsed to not be able to continue any further legal route regarding this, do you remember what you told me when i challenged your engineers report, your words was, 'you are lucky I didn't charge you for it, "Nice". you only took my car back the very last time just to make your self look good as it was getting some serious media attention and other 300zx members was getting involved in it. so please stop with the report card it isn't working it isn't worth the paper it's written on just like your so called warranty.... you just find excuses to get out of it or just keep saying, it's just one of those things, no it isn't it was a very bad attempt of an engine build. many things have been pointed out by the specialist it went to. it's pages and pages long and it was going to be used in court to why my engine really failed. this report wasn't done by some random garage like yours was. it is by a very reputable 300zx specialist, one that is very high up in the scene. I am so disappointed in you that I walked away from it all for some time till I ended up selling just about every thing I owned to have it all done again."
"Outlaw have been a massive help to me. I take all of my cars to them for general maintenance such as servicing and MOTs to complete overhauling such as bespoke engine building and welding. Not only are they a knowledgeable firm on most vehicles, they are experts on the Nissan 300zx. They have great tension to detail when it comes to these high performance vehicles. I have found that they always go above and beyond to help where possible. Their pricing is very fair too."
"So I bought my zed a few years ago now, completely in the dark about these cars, I took it to another garage for some maintenance work before finding Mike at Outlaw Customs, and all I can say is wow I'm glad I did !! Mike knows these cars like the back of his hand, he's always willing to help out, even coming out to my home on a dreary Sunday morning to help me solve a starting issue, the problem was diagnosed and fixed without any hassle, I've since had mike replace my entire wiring loom, service my car, carry out repairs when needed and generally be my go to guy for all things zed related. Mike is a honest hard working bloke, who gives best possible service to everyone I know who has used him, his prices are reasonable and his workmanship is top quality. I wouldn't go anywhere else with my zed."
"Brought my car to Outlaw Customs after being quoted ridiculous amounts from another garage who tried to charge me nearly £3000 for a turbo! The manager got price for the part which came in at approx £350 and maybe a 3-4hr job which the other garage told me would take 16hrs! Service is amazing, even went and picked up my car for me as I didn't feel confident enough getting it by myself. Would absolutely recommend. Thank you so much"
"I made the mistake of taking my car to this so-called " Nissan Z specialist" Outlaw Customs Ltd to have a manual gearbox fitted, which was part of a conversion kit from auto to manual which should have cost £1250 to be supplied and fitted including clutch, flywheel, cylinders, props, bolts, gear stick assembly. However, my car was already converted to a manual car, so all I needed from the kit was the gearbox, and I never received the other parts as spares or offered a lower price for the fitting. After leaving my car with them, I was soon told that they had found other issues with the car. This was then going to cost an extra £600 to fix (later found these jobs could have been done with the engine in situ). I advised them to go ahead with the work, and received the car back the following week having paid £2420 (which also included delivery back to me). I was excited to be getting the car returned to me. Upon receiving the car, I took it for a drive and noticed smoke pouring out from the exhaust and oil leaking at the front of the car. I took the car to a local mechanic, who placed it onto a ramp and informed me that the oil was coming from the rear main seal and all over the bell housing (the areas which Outlaw Customs would have been carrying out the jobs they did for me). When contacting Outlaw Customs regarding the issue, I was given the response "It's just one of those things", and they were reluctant to take any responsibility for it. After numerous messages, they finally agreed to change the seal. I definitely would not recommend using this company if you have a Nissan 300ZX. Avoid at all costs!!"
