He graduated in medicine from the University of Western Australia in 1984 and has since gained extensive experience in general medicine. In 1996, Dr Crostella completed advanced training in gastroenterology, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. He worked as a locum consultant at Fremantle and RPH hospitals. To further enhance his expertise, he pursued a GESA advanced hepatology scholarship at University College London in 1998.
