As the oldest park in Hastings, Cornwall Park embodies a unique English village green atmosphere. It is adorned with hundreds of mature trees, some of which have been standing since the park's establishment in the 1920s. The park's Reserve Management Plan ensures the preservation of its historic features while allowing for necessary upgrades, such as the recent transformation of the playground.
The recent upgrade of Cornwall Park Playground, completed in December 2019, has brought new play features suitable for all ages and abilities. The park now boasts modern amenities, including toilets, shelter, outdoor furniture, and a drinking fountain. The design of the playground harmonizes with the surrounding environment, incorporating a water and oak tree theme.
The playground's central feature is a towering acorn structure, connected by rope structures and slides. This 10-meter-high tower allows climbers to enjoy a unique perspective of the playground below. Other exciting features include a flying fox, a junior play area, raised mounds, swings, monkey bars, slides, and spinners.
The transformation of Cornwall Park Playground reflects the commitment of Hastings District Council to enhance public spaces for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. The project was completed within the existing footprint of the playground, and all existing equipment, except the Splash Pad, was replaced. The Liberty Swing has been relocated to Frimley Park, ensuring accessibility for all.

"Kids had great fun at this playground that has plenty of equipment to challenge and explore. Water play area is perfect to cool them down in the summer heat. Handy public toilets nearby, benches and tables with seats, shady trees for a picnic or snooze."
"great place. very open roomy safe recently upgraded fun multi cultured setting with lots of activities for kids to play on the massive jungle gym and get soaked in the summer sun on the "press play-to-play" movement activated custom water features and fountains also, parents can carefully observe from the sidelines and enjoy the food and ambience of vibrant colours and natural features carefully placed only metres away without interrupted play. locals are friendly, relaxing on the sun soaked green grass or around the picnic table spread , facilities are clean and accessible, everyone brings their flavour to the recipe respectful and polite attitudes observed by all so everyone loves their stay no matter how brief - P.S plenty of room to safely zip around on the electric scooters without hitting anyone too! lol BEWARE : KIDS WILL NOT LEAVE..."
