Welcome to The Playful Place, a private therapy service located in Napier, New Zealand. We specialize in play-based therapy and child development, with a focus on sensory integration. Our goal is to support the sensory world of children attending our clinic.

At The Playful Place, we offer a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of children aged 0-18. Our services include 1-1 pediatric occupational therapy and play therapy, LEGO-Based Therapy social skills group, Food Explorer groups, group therapy for sibling or family groups, as well as clinical and non-clinical assessments. We also provide professional development workshops for those interested in furthering their knowledge in this field.

Our team of dedicated therapists specializes in Sensory Processing Differences, Neuro-developmental Conditions, Autism, Trauma, Premature birth, and behaviors of concern. We understand the challenges that these conditions can present and strive to create a safe and understanding environment for both children and their families.

In addition to our therapy services, we also offer a developmental playgroup for babies who were born premature or had a stay in NICU/SCBU. Our experienced developmental therapists provide advice and support to help these babies reach their developmental milestones.

We are proud to offer facilitator training for LEGO-Based Therapy, a full-day training program that covers the principles and techniques of this innovative therapy approach. LEGO-Based Therapy has been proven to enhance social skills and problem-solving abilities in children.
