Our institution, Napier Operatic Society, is an esteemed amateur theatre society that has been captivating audiences since its establishment in 1887. As the second oldest-existing theatrical society in New Zealand, we have earned a national reputation for our critically acclaimed professional-quality productions.

Situated within the Tabard Theatre, our society has found a home that has undergone extensive renovations, with the final touches completed in April 1994. These renovations included the addition of an extended rehearsal room, wardrobe hire, workshop, and a restaurant-theatre complex. These enhancements have allowed us to create unforgettable theatrical experiences for our audiences.

At Napier Operatic Society, we are passionate about producing multiple productions each year, ensuring a vibrant and diverse cultural landscape in Napier. Since our inception, we have successfully staged a major stage-show annually, showcasing our commitment to preserving and promoting the art of musical theatre.
