About the Business
Welcome to the Faraday Museum of Technology, located at 2B Faraday Street in the vibrant city of Napier, New Zealand. As an establishment, museum, and point of interest, we are proud to be a popular tourist attraction for visitors of all ages.
At the Faraday Museum, we believe in providing a hands-on experience that brings history to life. Rather than simply reading and looking at artifacts, we encourage our visitors to touch, hold, and interact with the items on display. It's a truly immersive experience that allows you to discover how things were in days gone by.
One of the highlights of our museum is the Wind Bike, where you can pedal your way to exercise while learning about the power of wind energy. It's a great activity for both kids and adults alike. Another popular attraction is our sewing workshop, where children and adults can learn and discover the art of sewing by hand together.
Step back in time and explore our Tin Town exhibition, which showcases the resilience and resourcefulness of our city. Learn about Tent Town, the refugee campsite that was set up after the devastating 1931 Napier earthquake. It's a fascinating glimpse into the past that will leave you with a deep appreciation for the history of our city.
We are open to the public on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer at the Faraday Museum, we would love to have you join our team. Community and club groups can also arrange tours at a time that suits them, and we offer concession rates for group tours.
Looking for a unique venue for your child's birthday party? Look no further than the Faraday Museum of Technology. We offer exciting party packages that will make your child's special day truly memorable.
Come and experience history your way at the Faraday Museum of Technology. Discover, learn, and have fun as you explore the fascinating world of technology and innovation. We look forward to welcoming you to our museum soon!

"An amazing collection of interesting things. Highly interactive and fun for everyone of all ages. Loved the tractor ride. This place is a real treasure of Napier."
"Brilliant! So interactive and some incredible pieces. Such a great experience and so worth the $9.50!"
"A very interactive little museum made for all ages. You can touch and play with a lot of the artefacts on display. Plenty of vintage gear like dial up phones, a working Tesla coil, pinball machine amongst other small things. Not as big as motat but for the price you could easily spend a good 45 mins there."
"Excellent Museum, you could play with old dial phone, vacuum transport token, spring transport token system. You could touch and play with the display item. Don't miss the life experience of Nikola Tesla's Tesla Coil. It's amazing. A nice place to spend 2-3 hours. The Museum is running by a group of volunteers, no support from Council or government."
