Our center is situated next to the estuary in Welcome Bay, providing a nature-inspired environment that fosters learning. The children are captivated by the variety of birds and insects that emerge from the surrounding bush, sparking in-depth discussions and curious questions.

Our passionate and experienced teachers are dedicated to providing rich learning opportunities for all children. We believe in learning through play, encouraging resourcefulness and critical thinking by offering open-ended resources and activities.

Nutrition is an essential aspect of our center. We provide nutritious morning and afternoon teas, as well as lunch, catering to any dietary requirements. We promote healthy eating practices and physical activity to encourage good self-care.

BestStart Welcome Bay has two age-based rooms that promote independence, responsibility, respect, and a natural curiosity. The Koru Room is designed for children up to 2.5 years, where we follow home routines closely and provide a respectful and kind environment. The Pohutukawa Room caters to children from 2.5 years old to school age, challenging them with rich, open-ended activities and supporting their transition to school readiness.
