"I went in Winter so all the roses had withered... but the views and the falling leaves were still mesmerisingly beautiful!"
"We just visited the place after the roses had almost no more flowers. Easy to stop by. Plenty of free parking available. Kids playgrounds around. Good place to relax before continue your travel."
"Honestly, if you're in the area or passing through, THIS IS A MUST. Whether you like roses or not it's absolutely beautiful, especially at this time of year but truthfully, it's still lovely at plenty to look at at other times of the year. It's always exceptionally well maintained, peaceful and has a perfect amount of shade in summer. Has a great kids playground fenced off from the water below and a lovely little river walk amongst trees and under the bridge. It's right across the road from the Te Awamutu i-Site center and always tidy and clean public toilets. If you're looking for a nice way to enjoy an afternoon grab some food from one of the local cafes (Red Kitchen is good and walking distance) or grab some buns, coleslaw, salad etc from the supermarket and sit in the shade and have lunch. There's plenty of park benches to sit down and a few picnic tables, drinking water fountain and ample parking even if you've got a caravan etc. It's DEFINITELY a spot I'd mark on the map as worth stopping for when traveling, even for a quick leg stretch and toilet stop! It's beyond a good place to stop or check out, it's actually worth a destination trip if you live nearby too! It's got a beautiful water fountain in the center and the whole place always looks immaculate and has a little bit of everything for the family etc!"
"The BEST playground, oh, and rose gardens too. But the playgrounds... there is a musical themed one, a climbing one, another one, mini roads complete with signs, and the rose garden is planted in such a way it kind of acts like a maze, especially for little people. Seating scattered around the place. Ample parking. The toilets are a wee way off close to the info centre but you get to check out the walk of fame on the way."
