Our centre is situated at 6 Peria Road, Matamata, offering a spacious and beautifully modern environment for your tamariki (children). Designed with a distinct Waikato feel, our architect has created a stunning space with a striking gabled roof that invites families into our spacious rooms, which unfold onto gorgeous gardens beyond.

We believe in providing an all-weather play experience, with decks and sheltered spaces, a generous playground, and an abundance of natural materials. Our outdoor space is designed as a little village, allowing children to move at their own pace, interact with siblings, and learn from one another. It is here that local themes of hunting and farming run deep, providing endless opportunities for genuine play and self-discovery.

At New Shoots, we encourage exploration as the foundation for problem solving, perseverance, confidence, and resilience. Nurturing and teaching go hand in hand, and relationships are at the core of everything we do. Many of our teachers grew up in Matamata, and we foster connections to our local community through rest home visits, parents' nights, and our Christmas parade float.

Our fees at New Shoots Children's Centre - Matamata include nappies, meals, wetbag, bag, and hat/beanie. Every day is treated as a new opportunity for your child to connect, thrive, and build on their immense curiosity, creating a lifelong love of learning.

Please note that we operate as a full-day service and do not offer short days or sessions. Our fees include high-quality teacher ratios above Ministry of Education Standards. The minimum enrolment requirement is two days per week, and a $50 enrolment fee is due upon enrolment to confirm your place. Two weeks' notice is required when terminating enrolment. If you have two or more children attending New Shoots full time, a 10% discount is applicable to your eldest child's fees. Nappies and food are provided, but please bring formula from home if required.
