Welcome Bay Kindergarten is a warm and inviting establishment located in Tauranga, New Zealand. Situated on Portland Street, number 15, our kindergarten is not only a point of interest in the community, but also a school dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for young children.

As you step through our doors, you will immediately feel the sense of joy and love that fills the air. Our whare, a traditional Maori meeting house, was lovingly built by our local community, who are the heart and soul of our kindergarten. Together, we create a place where children are cherished and their unique identities are celebrated.

At Welcome Bay Kindergarten, we are proud to have 100% degree-qualified teachers who are passionate and dedicated educators. They understand the importance of fostering each child's confidence and individuality, and they do so with love, respect, and support. Our teachers truly believe in the potential of every child and work tirelessly to provide them with the tools they need to succeed.

One of the highlights of our kindergarten is our expansive outdoor play areas. Designed with nature in mind, these spaces provide children with ample room to play, explore, and let their imaginations run wild. We are honored to be recognized as a Green-Gold EnviroKindergarten, as we believe in teaching children the wonders of the natural world and instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

We are pleased to offer up to 30 free hours per week for your child's education. However, we also accept optional donations, which help us to continue the great work we do. Your contributions of $4 for a half day or $6 for a full day go a long way in supporting our mission.

At Welcome Bay Kindergarten, we value the involvement of parents and the wider community. We believe that when we work together, we can create an environment where children thrive. We welcome parents and little visitors to come in and say hi, as we are conveniently located right next to Selwyn Ridge Primary School.

Our commitment to fulfilling the needs of our children is summed up in our whakatauki, a Maori proverb: "Mahia nga mahi o nga tamariki hei apopo ka tu hei rangatira" which means "Fulfill the needs of our children, and tomorrow they stand strong." We believe in empowering our children to become strong, confident leaders of tomorrow.
