About the Business
Welcome to YWCA Hamilton, located at 28 Pembroke Street in the beautiful city of Hamilton, New Zealand. As an establishment, lodging, and point of interest, we are dedicated to supporting every woman in the Waikato region to achieve success.
At YWCA Hamilton, we are deeply committed to empowering women and girls to make positive choices that lead to social change. To fulfill this mission, we offer free workshops and retreats specifically designed for young women aged 15 to 30. Through these programs, we aim to inspire and equip the next generation of female leaders.
One of our core values is collaboration. We firmly believe that by working together with other organizations and individuals, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment for all women. Through these collaborations, we are able to offer a wide range of activities and services that enable women to reach their full potential.
Amplifying voices is another crucial aspect of our work. We understand the importance of giving women in the Waikato region a platform to share their stories, experiences, and perspectives. By amplifying these voices, we strive to raise awareness about women's issues and promote gender equality.
Our institution also serves as a safe and secure space for women to freely express themselves. We believe in creating an environment where women can come, be inspired, and feel comfortable being their authentic selves. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and encourage women to embrace their unique identities.
The YWCA has a rich history in Hamilton, having been separately incorporated from the YMCA on May 16, 1943. Since 1954, we have owned our property on the corner of Clarence and Pembroke Streets, making it a central hub for women's empowerment in the community.
It is important to note that YWCA Hamilton is part of a global movement that works tirelessly for women's empowerment, leadership, and rights. We believe that every girl and every woman deserves to have their rights protected and their voices heard.
Whether you are seeking personal growth, community engagement, or simply a safe space to connect with like-minded individuals, YWCA Hamilton is here for you. Join us in our mission to empower women and girls in the Waikato region. Together, we can create a better future for every woman, every girl, and every right.

Reviews
"The staff is super friendly. Located nice and quiet. Communal areas are clean. Everything works. Private room for a slightly higher price of a hostle. Nothing to complain about. Would recommend to any backpacker that looks for a place to get things organized or just needs some privacy and a good clean bed."
"Staff are careless rude obnoxious unfriendly and not the best to look at when walking through reception. Awful atmosphere and the place is full of dirty old men who live there full time. Would never recommend this hostel"
"Stayed here for over a month, Staff and people are friendly. Location of the hostel is in good proximity to Pac n Save, the lake and CBD. Cleaners do a great job to maintain the shared facilities."
"Had a fantastic food dining experience in the chapel there. They hire it for private functions. Cool spot. Heaps of history painted on the walls"
"Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 10 days and as a frequent traveller I was amazed by this hostel! By far the best I've stayed in, I would recommend staying here if you want to mingle with some of the nicest people around Hamilton. Our room was a great price, the cleanliness of the place was great, the kitchen area was nicely spaced (at least on the 3rd floor) and the staff were helpful, and friendly from the moment we walked up the driveway! I have come across good hostels and bad hostels but I assure you this is one of the good ones. We are looking forward to our stay again in the near future, and thank you to everyone who made the experience so good!"
