Welcome to Northland Community Pre School, a vibrant and nurturing educational institution located at 137 Mairangi Road, Wellington, New Zealand. At Northland Community Pre School, we pride ourselves on our team of qualified and dedicated teachers who are passionate about early childhood education. We are thrilled to share the success of our recent clothing and toy sale, held on 10 September, which raised an impressive $669! The proceeds from this event will be used to upgrade our hardworking kaiako's staff room, ensuring they have a comfortable and inviting space to recharge and prepare for their important work. Additionally, any remaining unsold goods have been generously donated to Birthright Kapiti and The Nest Collective Wellington, benefiting families in need within our community.

Thanks to the incredible support from the Southcombe family and the wider Northland Community Preschool community, our vision for a new and easily accessible storage shed has become a reality. This facility will provide a safe and organized space for our resources, enabling our teachers to create engaging and enriching learning experiences for your children. Alongside the storage shed, we have also created a Treasure Chest inspired by the concept of a 'Cabinet of Curiosities.' This unique addition, built into the adjoining wall, will captivate your children's imagination and curiosity, sparking conversations and wonder as they explore the fascinating objects within.

To raise funds for these exciting projects, we embarked on various fundraising initiatives, including a Give A Little page, bake sales at local events, a movie night, and a highly successful Silent Auction in May 2019, which raised nearly $5000. We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we received, including a generous one-off donation of $7100 from an NCP family.

In late 2020, after diligently accumulating the necessary funds, we were fortunate to find a skilled builder who eagerly took on the project. The construction was completed during term 4 of 2020, and we are delighted to showcase our new facilities in 2021. We also invited our NCP whānau to contribute intriguing items for our Treasure Wall, which was generously donated and built by the Southcombe family. Encased behind perspex, these treasures provide endless moments of conversation, wonder, and curiosity for our tamariki as they discover and appreciate the diverse objects within.
