"We were impressed initially with The Maids enthusiasm and hired them after their first clean. Shortly after we needed to constantly remind them to manage simple cleaning tasks and to lock doors - I found the doors unlocked three times, once they left the keys in the front door. The quality of clean then dropped dramatically from November until April. The owner disappeared after Christmas and couldn’t be contacted. This left us to communicate with someone completely new with little care or regard to our property and Airbnb requirements. We found out from neighbours that full rubbish bags were left out the front of the property because the bins were full. They ignored our requests to return to the property to remove the rubbish, claiming it was not their responsibility. We could not get to the property to dispose of the rubbish. Several times, we were informed by guests that the rubbish bins were full and when I asked the cleaners if they had taken them out, they lied and said they did. We discovered they weren’t. This recurring situation made it difficult for the next guests to dispose of their rubbish, which impacted on our Airbnb rating. We had booked a date three weeks prior for a clean and they cancelled the clean with less than 24 hours notice, during peak period at Easter. The new cleaner/administrator couldn’t care less and was rude and dismissive when we raised our concerns. She said ‘sorry that’s not our problem’. We initially gave them a great review, but since then the quality of clean, security of our property and communication dramatically dropped off. I would not engage with this company."

"Unfortunately I can't recommend The Maids - I had previously posted that my experience with them had been great, very professional, but I had 5 poor Airbnb reviews in a row on the cleanliness of my house (reducing my own rating) so we had to part ways - and I have since taken down that positive post and replaced it with this one. Some of the details given by guests on the cleaning through November/December were very disappointing - compost not emptied, lots of dust and rubbish under couch, fire not cleaned or set, rubbish bins not emptied. On the upside, the linen/bedroom and bathroom cleaning generally was good. I don't have too much more to say except my engagement with The Maids went south pretty quickly. In their defence, they were happy to discuss things, but unfortunately from my perspective the cleaning didn't improve when we had clearly agreed there were problems. It gives me no pleasure to write this post, but it is my experience."

"I recently had a deep clean of a newly purchased home in Lorne and Donovan and Erika did an amazing job, from the first phone call everything was professional and easy. I had a deep clean done of the house, they cleaned my carpets, walls, oven, draws, door tracks, every surface of my house was clean and ready for me to move in, it really took the pressure off knowing the house was ready when we arrived with our belongings. The maids are great value for money!!! I will use The Maids again in the future and highly recommend them for great quality work."
