At Mākara Model School, our facilities are designed to provide a dynamic learning environment. With four classrooms, including a brand new build and the original school house, which has been recently relocated and transformed into our senior classroom, we offer a range of spaces for students to thrive. Our expansive grounds feature exciting amenities such as a flying fox, sandpit, large bike track, playground, vegetable gardens, chicken coop, and even our very own swimming pool - perfect for those scorching summer days!

We believe in the power of experiential learning and encourage our students to explore their surroundings. Our children climb trees, build huts, participate in sports activities, and develop a deep love for animals and the environment. Gardening and exploring the bike track are also popular pastimes, fostering a sense of discovery and adventure.

At Mākara Model School, we prioritize collaboration and mutual learning. Through the practice of Tuakana Teina and Āko, our older students mentor and guide our younger pupils, creating a supportive and nurturing environment where learning becomes a shared experience.
